Job Introduction:

GENERAL SUMMARY

G4S Secure Integration is a market-leading systems integrator who brings innovative, flexible and cost-efficient thinking to the design, construction and maintenance of stand-alone or integrated communication networks and security systems.  We are seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer that will be responsible for the development of security solutions for critical infrastructure customers.  The focus will be on the G4S vertical market, with a focus on the utility vertical including nuclear, bulk electric, hydro, and gas.


Role Responsibility:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Evaluate security hardware, including cameras and intrusion detection sensors, as well as software
  • Evaluate third party security systems
  • Evaluate third party video management systems
  • Develop integrated security solutions
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of internal standards and templates
  • Review contractual documents including plans/specifications as well as customer requirements and expectations
  • Using a consultative approach with the customer, in combination with provided drawings, specifications and other documents, develop a comprehensive system design
  • Ensure the design is compliant with all industry specific, local, state and national regulations
  • Propose solutions that meet regulatory requirements, with an emphasis on cyber security compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Six years of progressive experience designing and installing complex or enterprise level security and/or technology infrastructure systems.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 12 years designing and installing complex security or enterprise level technology systems may be considered.
  • Understanding of basic electrical concepts
  • Previous experience leading design teams and working directly with customers following a consultative approach
  • Advanced knowledge of Ethernet networking
  • Ability to pass background checks leading to security credentials for various federal, state and local agencies
  • Must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience/certifications in multiple access control, video surveillance and other electronic security systems
  • Ability to understand, interpret and mark up standard engineering drawings
  • Advanced understanding of electrical concepts as they relate to electronic security system and IT hardware deployments both in a construction and data center environment    

DESIRABLE CERTIFICATIONS

  • Industry Certifications: BICSI (RCDD), NICET, ASIS (PSP, CPP) SIA, COMP TIA, PMI (PMP), CISSP
  • Vendor Certifications: Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, etc.), Microsoft (MCSE), Access Control (AMAG, Honeywell, Lenel, Genetec, SoftwareHouse), Video Management (Milestone, Genetec, Exacq, Avigilon, Cameras (Axis, Bosch, Sony, Hanwha), Wireless (Fluidmesh, Siklu)

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English technical language and be able to effectively interpret requirements, technical instructions, and test procedures as well as document progress and technical findings. 

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  On occasion the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in diagram form.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The incumbent is occasionally required to stand for long periods of time.  The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
