Site Overview
The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC) in Oxford has been treating patients with bone and joint problems for more than 80 years and has a world-wide reputation for excellence in orthopaedics, rheumatology and rehabilitation. The hospital can also undertake specialist services such as the treatment of bone infection and bone tumours, limb reconstruction and the rehabilitation of those with limb amputation or complex neurological disabilities.

 

G4S have the responsibility to deliver services in the following areas of the centre: Helpdesk, Patient and Retail Catering, Cleaning, Portering, Planned and Reactive Maintenance, Lifecycle Replacement, Grounds Maintenance, Pest Control, Linen, Security and Consumables. 

 

Role Overview
As Soft Services Manager You will be responsible for the delivery of the soft service operation to the agreed specification, agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets. You will provide leadership, role modelling and direction to the delivery teams within the soft services area of the business, based in a busy hospital environment.

 

You will also support the Contract Manager in ensuring the delivery of domestic, portering, Linen, waste, security, reception and helpdek services on the NOC sites to provide a cost effective and efficient service in line with contract requirements. The role will be primarily a management/organisational role where you will ensure staff have the necessary competence, training, back-up and support to deliver.

 

Some of your key responsibilities will include delivering a consistent level of service across the site to agreed SLAs to comply with company and statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health and safety, hygiene, COSHH and fire safety. You will recruit, train, control, monitor and coordinate G4S staff across operational activities and liaise with Assistant Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders to ensure plans and schedules operate efficiently.

 

You will need to foster good working relationships internally and externally with sub-contractors in Security, linen, waste and window cleaning to ensure the delivery of the contract. You should have experience supporting and working with others and delivering objectives.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience managing Soft FM services
  • Proven people management experience
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Experience of forming strong client relationships

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Healthcare and PFI experience
  • IOSH Certificate or equivalent
