Site Security Manager requires for prestigious vehicle manufacturing location in Chichester, all applicants must have a similar management experience and knowledge of industrial Fire Fighting, advanced Medical and environmental background.

Salary - £41,000 per annum

Working hours - Primarily Monday - Friday days, though flexibility in hours around operational requirements,

Job Summary

Responsible for managing daily operations in accordance with the location and G4S policy and procedures within the confines of UK workplace and H&S regulations, best practice and law. To manage the day-to-day operational requirements of the contract in line with customer and contractual expectations by leading and developing the Site Security, Emergency Response Team & Reception Services. To be the initial management contact on operational security matters, ensuring a consistent quality service delivery and prompt responses to all incidents. A full-time position working Monday to Friday amounting to approximately 45 hours weekly with some flexibility required

Job Responsibilities and Accountability

Operations


Security Manager will be assisted by the Security team with the control of the day to day running of the Site Security Department and Reception. You will be responsible to the G4S Account Director and the on-site client at site. A key aspect of this responsibility is to deliver a consistently high standard of service to customer of the site and to form close working partnerships with all departments and to ensure delivery of their Security expectations and needs. Assists with the development of the Security Department in line with Client business development and the Scope of Services, Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators that have been formally agreed with the Client. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Maintain a full and continuing understanding of and adherence to all procedures, Emergency Response routines, and Emergency Evacuation procedures, Building Orientations, Standard Operating Procedures, Daily Briefings, Memorandums and Report Writing. To have full knowledge of the Reception Duties (when on reception) Day to day responsibility:  
  • For the conduct of Security Team Leaders, Plant Protection Officers, Security Officers and Reception staff during the shift and ensures all instructions, reports, logs and any other site reports are completed accurately and in full before the end of shift wherever possible. 
  • Delegate standard day to day supervisory task wherever possible to elevate the work load making the Team Leaders more accountable for the routine activities.
  • Maintain Javelin in accordance with the required manning levels and ensure a zero
    wage query standard wherever possible, ensuring a Site Rota is available for staff to
    forward plan their availability to cover shifts.
  • Delegate the monthly OMS process to the shift Team Leaders and train them to take
    over the manning requirements as the first point of contact.
  • Interface with the client, service providers, local authorities and others as necessary for
    the swift and efficient conclusion of all shift problems including emergencies
  • Support all other Security duties, covering where necessary including Reception.
    To ensure that all staff are in full uniform and are smart and presentable in line with
    company policy.
  • Conduct recruitment of new staff including the G4S process of employment etc
    Responsible for keeping the G4S Account Director up to date on all project status
    updates, current events occurrences and incidents either by report, e-mail or telephone,
    as appropriate.
  • Co-ordinate with the Client as required in the completion of special projects, statistics
    reporting, additional events at both locations.
  • Review incident reports before submitting to G4S Account Director
  • Maintain operation statistics records for monthly meetings
  • Performs all duties of a Site Manager during the normal business day but to be prepared
    to cover extra week-end duties should they be required.
  • Have thorough knowledge of all buildings, emergency procedures, site layout and job
    instructions with site,
  • Develop and assist with the site travel plan
  • Perform security duties during any special events at either Rolls-Royce locations.
  • Assist with investigating systems alarms throughout site
  • Respond to all emergency calls:
  • Full ERT participation (emergency response team)
  • Provide Emergency First Aid treatment required.
  • Assume position as Shift Supervisor or next level of authority until relieved - secure and
    control the scene as required
  • Responsible for the proper completion by security staff of Daily Activity/Shift Reported,
    and Incident/Occurrence (CORSICA) Reports as required
  • Enforce all company rules as to access control management
  • Operate and maintain security systems, CCTV, network systems equipment, current
    systems and new installs
  • Ensure that Administration / issue of ID access control cards and documentation are
    correctly carried out, select staff members to undertake this role.
  • Assist with other reasonable duties as requested by the Client, G4S Account Manager &
    Regional Management Team.
  • Any other duties deemed to be appropriate or necessary to the post.

  • Ensure all staff are trained and able to carry out their duties in accordance with site
    procedures and policies.
  • Establish and manage a security team that is well turned out, motivated, well-informed,
    focused and clear about its role and objectives.
  • To carry out ad-hoc welfare and communicational visits to officers on post, ensuring that
    the procedures in place are being adhered to and concerns raised can be dealt with or
    highlighted.
  • Maintain and follow fair and consistent disciplinary procedures, with appropriate action
    as necessary.
  • Ensure all employees are motivated and trained to the required standard and subject to
    regular effective performance monitoring.
  • To ensure that all new starters have been issued with the correct items of uniform and
    equipment, that they are formally introduced to their site and that all induction training
    and documentation has been completed with all RA’s read and signed prior to being
    permitted out onto the plant.
  • Play a proactive part in the control of staff turnover by welcoming new starters and
    refraining from defamatory comments regarding the company and / or site.
    Effectively manage and reduce absence, including the return to work process and acting
    as point of call for sickness/absenteeism reporting.
  • Effectively source cover from within the site team to cover late notice absence.
    Proactively mentor your officers to ensure their responsibilities are being met.

Equipment

  • Control use of radios, Tablets, POP handsets and other equipment, ensuring regular
    audits are carried out.
  • Ensure lawful, safe, efficient and economical use and recording of all supplies and
    consumables.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained covering all equipment including alarm
    systems, monitoring and recording devices, reported as defective and ensure
    appropriate and timely response and repair of equipment.
  • Ensure that all equipment is managed, used, monitored and reported defective in
    accordance with Rolls-Royce policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all Rolls-Royce equipment is managed in accordance with the site process.
    Ensure daily, weekly and monthly checks are completed with attention to detail and
    within the predetermined time frames.
  • Ensure all site keys are managed and accounted for at each daily handover.
  • Ensure medical equipment checks are completed in accordance with site procedures.
  • Take full ownership and responsibility for the equipment checks delegated to your team.
  • Ensure any missing or damaged items are escalated with a full investigation to both
    PA5S and the G4S Contract Managers at the earliest opportunity.
  • The team leader will be held personally responsible for all discrepancies relating to their
    shift when assessed at monthly KPI/SLA meetings.
  • Ensure there are no gaps in the aforementioned checks prior to leaving for a period of
    rest days.
  • Ensure your team are issued with full and well turned out uniform at all times with any
    discrepancies escalated to the G4S Account Director as soon as practicable.

Administration

  • Provide accurate and timely information for the preparation of reports and planning.
  • Ensure all extra cover requests are accurately monitored and recorded and escalated to
    your line manager.
  • Ensure provision of adequate information for proper personnel administration of
    employees.
  • To be responsible for the examination and submission of, and actions relating to, all
    written reports and documentation produced by the Security Staff.
  • Ensure compliance with KPI/SLA requirements, minimising associated risks to the
    company and to the customer.
  • Ensure all staffing hours are correctly logged into the daily manning sheets and ensure
    that errors with payroll are dealt with directly & promptly by escalating to the G4S
    Account Director or Contract Manager
  • Ensure compliance with legal, Company and contractual obligations at all sites, such as
    the Data Protection Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, procedures outlined in the
    Company handbook, Work Instructions and Assignment Instructions.
  • To be responsive to all email communications from G4S management and the PI 56
    team.
  • The team leader will be held personally responsible for all discrepancies relating to their
    shift when assessed at monthly KPI/SLA meetings.

 

Qualification
- A Level or equivalent in English & Maths
- NEBOSH or IOSH as a minimum
- FREC 3 or FAAW as a minimum
- Experience in a Motor Manufacturing Plant or First Response Environment is desirable
with Industrial Fire Fighting background.
- Full and current driving License to be checked prior to driving company vehicles
- Physically fit to pass a site related medical
- No aversion to working at height or in confined spaces
- Excellent communication skills are essential – report writing, 1-2-1 dialogues, radio communications, log book entries
