This is a customer facing role where you will be responsible for  protecting both the staff working on the premises and also the customers entering the buildings.  Our work has never been more vital and we need you to help make it happen. With a keen eye and a brilliant way with people, you will be a friendly face who enjoys helping the public and being on your feet all day. It’s important work, and as things keep developing, every day will be different. Working directly with the public, you’ll be providing a consistent service, with day-to-day responsibilities such as:

  • Presenting at all times a smart, alert, visible and commanding security presence
  • Day to day management of a team of 13 security officers
  • Support with the training and development of the security team
  • Reporting any security events and dealing with emergency situations, including initial alerts and evacuations in accordance with site procedures. 

 


The Ideal Candidate

 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; an ability to influence at all levels across customers and stakeholders as well as their own team. 
  • Highly numerate and literate.
  • A supportive character able to assist the Contract Manager and Customer Service Manager to achieve their goals. 
  • The inter-personal skills and ability to interact with differing personalities and leadership/management styles in order to build effective stakeholder and team relationships at various levels.
  • Practical, robust, ‘hands on’ leadership experience and abilities allied to the energy to overcome difficulties and offer innovative solutions in a fluid environment.
  • Experience of managing a complex, high profile and time critical security operations.
  • A thorough understanding of G4S and MQS policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative, within company and client deadlines.
  • SIA License required 


 

Experience

 

  • Previous Management/Team Leader experience in a security environment
  • Experience using relevant technology and equipment 
  • Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
  • Excellent knowledge of security procedures
  • Desirable: Experience of managing large diverse workforces
