The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Security Operations Center (SOC) Shift Supervisor. The Security Operations Center (SOC) is a 24/7 operation which provides security operations team with a comprehensive "edge-to-endpoint" monitoring approach to provide broad visibility of activity across the facility infrastructure, and leverages intelligence from several systems and technology databases that provide advanced correlation and analysis capabilities to deliver a prioritized list of actionable security incidents to security operations team. The SOC Shift Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the SOC operators as well as functioning within an SOC post during the shift. The SOC Shift Supervisor position is designed to ensure all safety, security and facility related alarms, services and emergency situations are responded to and resolved in a timely manner. The SOC Shift Supervisor must have excellent customer service skills and be able to multi-task during various safety and security situations. Further, he/she must have the ability to communicate properly and motivate the team.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Supervision and development of direct reports
  • Answering phones; operate telephone system
  • Operating radio; use multi-channel communications
  • Call logging; data entry
  • Operations support; routing of call information to the appropriate units for handling
  • Comply with and facilitate the conduct of the daily routine in the SOC
  • Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from client employees, outside vendors, law enforcement, and the security field force via telephone, automated alarm monitoring and radio systems
  • Process and evaluate information received from all available sources, and respond with the appropriate communication and dispatch procedures
  • Conduct Career Development Reviews for employees under direct supervision, determine additional training needs, and take steps to ensure professional growth of SOC Operators


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to meet and maintain any applicable State licensing or certification requirements

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a professional customer service role
  • Work history to demonstrate proficiency with the following:
    • Analytic and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to prioritize workload based on urgency
    • High level of competency with advanced computer systems (e.g., hardware, software and networks)

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Demonstrated ability to operate radio, telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Ability to communicate effectively with IT and Security Systems professionals
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity: Working on PC and using telephone/radio while sitting

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching.
