Job Introduction:

The Settlements Manager coordinates and manages all client settlement functions within the business to adhere to the SLA agreement with clients, specifically focusing on the timely and accurate payment of canister values to clients as per the Deposita service offering

Role Responsibility:

Ensure timely settlement of canister values to clients

  • Preparation of client settlement reports and integration into banking systems.
  • Maintenance of company bank accounts and available funds.
  • Controls and confirmation of values settled to clients.

Ensure compliance with SA banking and business banking regulations

  • Continuous education of banking rules and regulations
  • Maintaining relationships with banking professionals 

Financial reporting

  • Maintenance of cash-flow within approved levels by ensuring compliance with budgetary control procedures
  • Generation and co-ordination of daily settlement reports 

Ensure compliance with Company Financial policies in respect of SLA contracts with clients

  • Review of daily settlement values and volumes
  • Timeous and pro-active identification of issues that result in late settlement of client values
  • Scrutiny of systems and client integrations into company systems and external business banking systems.

Development of business unit and Settlements department personnel

  • Effective management of subordinate personnel in terms of:
  • Performance Assessment
  • Skills Development
  • Career path planning
  • Conflict resolution

Development of settlement processes, controls and procedures

  • Review of settlement processes and controls
  • Management of current portfolio of banking products 
  • Forecasting of future Settlements requirements with respect to:
  • Settlement Volumes
  • Settlement Values
  • Client requirements
  • G4S funding of required banking facilities
  • Scrutiny of G4S Settlement policies compared to industry standards

Health and Safety

  • Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year.
  • Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks
  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
  • Discuss all safety incidents on all levels
  • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
  • Attend safety education and refresher programmes
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace
  • Distribute safety information as and when required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Relevant BComm degree in Accounting / Finance. Minimum 5 years’ experience in Finance related business unit.
