We are looking to recruit a Senior Water Hygiene Technician to join our friendly team at a prestigious building in Cheltenham, to deliver predominantly water hygiene planned and reactive maintenance tasks and other related maintenance activities. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7am and 4pm.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:

 

  • Lead a team to undertake domestic water hygiene activities including but not limited to; temperature monitoring, flushing, microbiological sampling and chemical analysis, chemical dosing and sterilisation, calorifier and softener maintenance, water tank inspection and cleaning, irrigation system maintenance, shower descaling and sterilisation, TRV maintenance, closed system maintenance and other water hygiene related activities.

  • Undertake cooling tower water hygiene activities including but not limited to; microbiological sampling and chemical analysis, chemical dosing and sterilisation, cooling tower inspection and cleaning, chemical monitoring and replenishment, water tank inspection and cleaning, and maintenance activities.

  • Complete all water hygiene documentation and log books to ensure there is an audit trail to demonstrate compliance.

  • Ensure the water hygiene defect log is completed with any equipment failures and out of parameter results.

  • Undertake and / or oversee subsequent water hygiene remedial activities.

  • Understand and implement, where necessary, all water hygiene escalation and equipment operating procedures in the event of an out of parameter results, elevated bacterial count or maintenance activity.

  • Manage the workload of the team to ensure that they prioritise workload and raise identified issues through the correct channels.


The Ideal Candidate:

Essential

  • Legionella maintenance experience and awareness with cooling towers.

  • Accurate and methodical mind-set.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience of working in a facilities maintenance role.

  • Experience in leading a small team in an FM environment.
