Role Overview

Purpose of the job: To provide excellent communication and CCTV skills within the Eastlands Control Room only, which is responsible for supporting and managing all activity in and around the Eastlands Campus. 


 

To provide exceptional leadership and direction in the management of the Eastlands Campus Control Room which is responsible for supporting and managing all of the park operations 24hrs per day 7 days per week.


 

To support the operations team and be able to undertake Team Security Manager roles when needed.


 

To provide clear and timely communication to Security Officers, Campus management and outside agencies on key incidents that may affect the Campus operation, cause distress to visitors, guests, retailers and staff. 


 

Responsible to: Campus Security Manager


 External relationships: Campus Management, Suppliers, Contractors, Venues and members of the public. 


 Internal relationships:  Controllers, Ground Supervisors, Intel & Control room manager, Car Park Team, Ground security staff & Security Team Managers.


 

Hours: Rotating shift pattern, 4 on 4 off days and nights 12 hours shifts. 


 

Job overview

  • Responsibilities will Include;
  • Campus buildings and public space security and safety. 
  • Pro actively monitoring the Campus CCTV system.
  • Monitor and allocate officer attendance to panic and fire alarm activations.
  • Monitor and manage CCTV, Radios and all systems to ensure they are fully functional at all times.
  • Monitoring and controlling access to the site.
  • Monitor and allocate officer attendance to Parking Enforcement.
  • Key Control.
  • Responding to requests of CCTV monitoring.
  • Health, safety & welfare of security team.
  • Reporting and monitoring incidents within the Campus.
  • Maintaining contact with Security Officers patrolling the Campus.
  • Be proactive with accompanying SO on external patrols to uphold quality assurance and high visibility presence.
  • Ensuring the security of Eastlands Campus via the CCTV and Fire Alarm systems.
  • Immediate reporting of faults with the CCTV or Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Crowd Management and providing solutions.
  • Leadership and direction to control room staff on duty to ensure all issues are dealt with correctly. 
  • Ensure all incidents are logged and managed effectively through to completion.
  • Complete weekly and monthly audits on key activities and equipment within the control room.
  • Provide continued training and coaching to control room staff to enhance performance and provide job enrichment.
  • Review the performance and quality of control room staff on a monthly basis to achieve high performance standards.
  • Assist Ground supervisor managing officer positions and breaks coverage.
  • Maintain the standards of the control room for access / egress and visitor regulation.
  • Effectively handle all incoming telephone traffic into the control room.
  • Day to day management and rostering of control room staff.
  • Overall charge of the site and security team out of hours.
  • Any other reasonable request from the Management team.

 

  • Provide timely and effective communication to all within the business; 
    • Incidents that occur on or affect Eastlands Campus.
    • News events that affect Campus operations.
    • Update and input of information into the electronic reporting system.
    • Serious incident tracking and management

Skills & Knowledge

  • Relevant industry experience while not essential is preferred, although it is expected that the candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the unique features of the industry including licensing.
  • Can contribute toward a team's operation or can work on his own initiative.
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels within the organisation.
  • Complete working knowledge of all systems.
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of all processes and procedures.
  • A skillful negotiator who is capable of resolving staff issues.

  • Ability to learn and develop new skills in line with the job role.
  • Full Driving licence is desirable.
  • Valid SIA CCTV Licence.
  • Valid SIA DS Licence.


About you

  • Previous Management Experience and proven problem solving skills
  • SIA licence 
  • Experience of multiple office technology and software applications including Microsoft Office
  • Able to work on own initiative and influence senior internal and external contacts
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Confident, well presented with good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work in demanding and busy environment
  • Evidence of managing frequently changing diaries demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to travel when necessary
  • 5 Year checkable work history or evidence to support any period of unemployment, self- employment or time spent in full time education during that period
  • Right to work unrestricted in the UK/EU
