Security Training Coordinator - Hinkley Point C 

The Training Coordinators role is to support the G4S Security Training Manager at Hinkley Point C.  This role will become an integral part of a rapidly developing and extremely busy training team supporting the Operational Security Team, the Client and Contractors.

The successful role holder will be required to organise, conduct and administrate training in a regulated environment and must therefore be a proactive, self starter who is capable of operating on their own initiative to enhance the service delivery and training experience.

The holder must have previous training experience, excellent functional skills in ICT and English complemented with good administrative skills.

 

Location: EDF Hinkley Point C Construction Site, Wickmore Drove, Nr Bridgwater, Somerset, TA5 1UD

Pay: £15.82 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week, based on 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday. This can be altered on occasions to meet the needs of the business and the client.  Some out of hours work may be required so the successful candidate must be flexible and able to adapt.  Occasional evenings and weekend work required. 

Package: Permanent Contract, 20 days leave per year + 8 days Bank Holidays


Key Responsibilities 

  • Comply with all Health & Safety requirements for both G4S and our client at Hinkley Point C

  • Understand Training Needs Analysis to identify training needs for our personnel employed on the Hinkley Point C contract

  • Plan and deliver when required lessons, courses and exercises 

  • Coach, Mentor and Teach

  • Supervise security training

  • Access and carry out internal training assurance

  • Conduct administration duties including record keeping, joining instructions, scheduling

  • Record all training to a standard for internal and external audit

  • Innovate to enhance training and development of the security team

  • Assist the Training Manager in outreach programmes

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities and adapt to a changing environment

  • Effective decision making and sound judgment skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills – building trust and support

  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral

  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, Google applications

  • Experience in the design of teaching products and illustrations 

  • Strong administration skills

  • Adherence to company policies & operating procedures

  • Must be able to drive and hold a clean driving licence

 

 

Educational Requirements/Qualifications

 

  • Ideally have Award in Education and Training Level Three or equivalent or higher

  • Ideally have Functional Skills ICT at Level 2 or above

  • Ideally have Functional Skills English at Level 2 or above

  • Security training qualifications would be beneficial but not essential 

 

Preferred Experience 

 

  • Experience of working in a busy training environment, unsupervised managing multiple training and administrative responsibilities. 

  • Security experience preferred but not essential
