The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Training and Development ManagerThe Training and Development Manager is responsible for training existing Security Officers and GSOC operators to improve performance in their current role and develop focus training on employee growth and future performance. This position will be ensuring that Physical Security and Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) training is effectively executed according to client Corporate Security standards. This position will meet these standards by driving the training, onboarding, and development of new and existing Security Officers and GSOC Operators conducting site training. Training must elevate the performance improvement that must be measurable on a monthly basis.

With oversight from the National Account Manager, Global Security Operations Center Manager (GSOC), and client Security Management Team, the Training and Developing Manager will be responsible for using the ADDIE development process (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate) to ensure that each GSOC Operator, Lead, and officer has the training and support needed to meet all customer service, monitoring, and incident response expectations. The Training and Development Manager will also develop a strong working relationship and assist with any additional projects with other key business partners as needed and relevant, including with the (GSOC) Management and Security Management teams Center teams as directed.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Provide oversight and guidance for all GSOC/Operations training programs within assigned region; develop and implement method of measuring the effectiveness of training programs
  • Responsible for the learning and development of all operators and officers within the region
  • Ensure all services are performed in a professional and consistent manner by all regional team members
  • Provide training to GSOC operators, Leads, and Security Officers
  • Develop, plan and deliver training and exercises as necessary for security personnel to improve their protocols proficiency, readiness and overall team performance
  • Create original materials that support the overall training needs of GSOC and Physical Security Operations
  • Provide reports, metrics to management as required 
  • Contribute towards the completion of performance appraisals and setting of goals and deliverables for designated GSOC operators, Leads and  Security Officers
  • Evaluate existing technical capabilities and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies
  • Develop KPI’s to measure the effective of training
  • Communicate and disseminate information, using established communication vehicles, to key partners using best practices
  • Take an active role in Corporate Security projects. The levels of responsibility will vary from consulting to owning projects 
  • Provide support for complex human resources issues to include participation in disciplinary actions and development of performance improvement plans
  • Develop robust succession plans for the FTO program

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in protective service, business, or a related field
  • Must have the ability to meet and maintain any applicable state licensing requirements

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of prior experience as a team leader
  • Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a training and development role
  • Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a supervisory capacity within a security environment
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
    • A minimum of four (4) years of active service in any military branch   
    • Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) in criminal justice with current or prior law enforcement experience
    • A minimum of two (2) years of verifiable Security Training experience
    • A minimum of three (3) years of verifiable private/corporate security experience

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher

  • Must have strong knowledge of security systems, including CCTV, Emergency Notification, Access Control, GIS, PSIM, etc.
  • Must have strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess proven ability to influence key business partners
  • Must have strong organizational and planning skills
  • Must possess advanced computer skills and proficiency (MS Office Suite)
  • Must have strong inter-personal and networking skills
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must possess a proven track record in delivering training and development of training programs to include unit level exercises and drills
  • Must have a high adherence to ethics
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions
  • Must be able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of leadership
  • Must have willingness and ability to travel
  • Must be willing to assist with any additional projects issued by the client Security Management
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
