Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Fulfill Security Control duties when not supervising a shift. Be available to supervise a shift even on Security Control days
  • Supervise security personnel through daily post checks, (checking attire etc.) and advise the Shift Supervisor of any problems or concerns
  • Maintain knowledge of all post and procedures to include knowledge of access policy, emergency procedures and notifications
  • Interface with employees, contractors, and visitors through interviews (if necessary) to resolve concerns that may occur
  • Have a working knowledge of all fire protection and communication systems and be able to operate them when appropriate
  • Review incident reports written in Control to ensure accuracy and completeness before being submitted
  • Assist Shift Supervisor in scheduling, posting and pay sheets
  • Attend meeting/training sessions as required by the Security Manager
  • Ensure that Security personnel have received any additional training and advise Shift Supervisor of those needs
  • Conduct preliminary investigations to include interviews, viewing camera footage and follow ups

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current and valid Texas Security Guard License

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience leading a team in a protective service, communications center, or dispatch environment
  • Work history must include the demonstration of strong leadership and effective time management skills

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Applications
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail


  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must possess high proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Internet Explorer applications
  • Must be able to work effectively with management, customers and employees to convey information and ideas
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including some nights and weekends
  • Must possess the ability to maintain current IP Audit reports and Daily Patrol reports to Management
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity:  Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Standing, walking, and sitting.  Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
