Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Inspect and evaluates risks and ensure adequate staffing for client sites; this includes compliance with post orders, associated regulations and client Security Services Policy Database
  • Ensure schedules are developed to include service requests (extra hours) and training requirements as required
  • Coordinate proper responses to emergency situations and ensure subordinates respond appropriately to same
  • Act as incident commander and /or safety officer at emergency incidents
  • Review incident reports for compliance with regulations, client policies, and for quality assurance
  • Assist in the selection, orientation, development, and retention of staff in compliance with all regulatory and contract requirements
  • Serve as staff support to client security management and assists in conducting investigations of significant threats and/or the loss or misappropriation of assets
  • Monitor new officers to ensure they are performing effectively and understand the various aspects of their positions; monitors development programs to ensure staff are meeting evolving client requirements
  • Provide on-the-job training for newly assigned officers; ensure new staff are familiar with policies and procedures, assigned rounds, client post orders and any other related responsibilities
  • Train and ensure compliance of client Standards for the Access Control System (ACS) at the location
  • Provide leadership, advice, and counsel to all security staff in achieving current and long range strategic department goals
  • Perform incident analysis and investigation relative to all incidents with advice and closure to all responsible parties


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must be able to pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following
    • Verifiable work history in any field
    • Service in the active duty military, military reserves, or National Guard
    • Service in the Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets
    • A minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience
    • Associate’s degree or higher in any discipline
  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible management role within the security or emergency services field

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Applications
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must possess proficiency in communication and writing skills consistent with public speaking and construction of complex written reports
  • Must possess a demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Must possess effective leadership, verbal / written communication, human relations, and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess knowledge of client policies and procedures, as well as, Federal, State and Municipal regulations, codes and standards impacting security and fire prevention
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity:  Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Standing, walking, and sitting. Some stooping and/or kneeling required.
