As a Site Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision and leadership of all site security shift supervisors. The Supervisor will ensure all shift supervisors are adequately trained to fulfill their own responsibilities and will routinely measure their performance against expectations of G4S and the customer. The Supervisor, while on duty, will act as the primary physical security incident leader and manage the security force’s response, assigning tasks and providing updates to all stakeholders. The Supervisor will ensure all G4S personnel are trained and properly credentialed before being assigned to a designated shift.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Directly supervise all Site Security Shift Supervisors to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Proactively monitor performance, maintain positive employee relations and ensure coaching, counseling and investigations are escalated to client line management in line with company policy and procedure
  • Act as the incident leader for business disruptions and crisis management
  • Supervisor will assist with oversite of daily operations of the physical security operations. This includes, but is not limited to the following: ensuring the team is aware of the daily activities/schedule, addressing scheduling concerns/gaps, and briefing leadership on incidents - potential or realized.
  • Support Line Manager to ensure strong staff retention
  • The Supervisor will fulfill the role of Security Operations Manager, as needed
  • Ensure all staff fully understand and comply with all aspects of Client Policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring adequate and appropriate training, advice and support is provided to make the team successful.  This includes ensuring knowledge and the use of key systems, tools and policies; in collaboration with the Training Coordinator, if applicable, deliver regular training refresher modules and promoting a culture for openness and constructive feedback. Effective training records must be maintained and available for review.
  • Responsible for maintaining effective communications within the Security team
  • To provide the Customer and Line Manager with operational reports as required
  • Interviewing, selecting, and training new employees
  • Assist in maintaining the Health & Safety and Welfare policy for all rostered Security & Reception Staff, in accordance with Client policies and instructions.
  • Take an active role in position related projects. The levels of responsibility will vary from consulting to owning projects based on the individual
  • Monitor, facilitate and enforce Client Access Control systems, policies, and procedures
  • The Supervisor will be responsible for assigning tasks to employees
  • Completing performance appraisals, handling employee grievances or complaints and disciplining employees after consultation with the Security Operations Manager
  • Determine the types of equipment to be used in performing work, or materials needed
  • Manage the maintenance of vehicles, equipment, tools and technologies

 


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to meet and maintain any applicable state licensing requirements

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of one year of security supervisory/management experience, preferably within G4S
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Associate’s degree or higher
    • Service in the active military, military reserves or National Guard
    • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets
    • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience

  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Environment:  Indoor with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures

Major activity:  Sitting, standing, speaking listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Sitting, and standing.  Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
