The Site Supervisor directly reports to the Capital Market District Manager. Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Coach and develop security officers
  • Ensure all supervisors and officers understand and enforce all access control polices, processes and practices
  • Ensure roving patrol officers are fulfilling their roving patrol duties; review all checklists and inspect roving patrol officers to ensure duties are performed; document inspections and evaluations
  • Ensure all personnel are fully knowledgeable of all emergency response, fire and life safety, and access control policies, procedures, plans, and practices
  • Ensure proper communication and information flow; review all notification, communication and reporting processes to ensure information is passed up and down in a timely and accurate manner; initiate corrections to improve the information flow as needed
  • Identify potential safety hazards before they surface
  • Conduct spot checks of fire and life safety devices; compare spot checks to the deficiencies reported on the monthly report; follow up on any deficiencies identified
  • Review daily checklists prepared by the Shift Supervisors; ensures appropriate action was taken
  • While on duty, conduct daily inspections of officers
  • Ensure all posts are staffed as required; report any open posts to the Operations Manager
  • Conduct daily review of written logs, paperwork and reports by all officers and supervisors
  • Review weekly post inspections performed by the Shift Supervisors and document all findings; evaluate results and takes corrective actions
  • Establish processes to ensure duties assigned to the Operations Team are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Meet with the Market District Manager, as necessary, to discuss issues involving performance, training, attendance or other critical items
  • Prepare semi-annual performance appraisals on Shift Supervisors in conjunction with the Project Manager
  • Maintain training files on all assigned personnel

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess or be able to obtain, a valid Unarmed Maryland Security Guard Certification 

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must a minimum of 3 years of security experience in a high-profile corporate environment at a headquarters campus or similar high visibility location with progressive demonstrated responsibilities that included supervising others

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail


  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must possess strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to interact cordially and communicate in a professional corporate environment
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity:  Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Standing, walking, and sitting.  Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
