As a Senior Watch Commander, you will be responsible for providing provide primary training to all patrol officers in the field, and provide assistance and guidance for other watch commanders within the contract.  The Senior Watch Commander will work closely with the Project Manager and assist with implementing policies and procedures for the account.  This position deploys patrol officers and delegates tasks so that officers can provide a safe and secure environment for our customers.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel and facilities when assigned to his/her shift
  • Deliver uniforms and equipment to various locations
  • Provide Training to all patrol officers as well as watch commanders within the contract
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance is current
  • Perform other operations and related functions as needed (e.g., maintain incident reports, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders)
  • Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her indirect supervision
  • Respond to client requests
  • Work side by side with Project Manager to assist with schedules, coordination, paperwork, etc.


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by the State of California
  • Must possess a California State Weapons Permit with a .40 caliber endorsement
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a California Operator's Driver's License

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must meet one of the following requirements:
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
    • Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of active service in any military branch
    • Associate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
  • Work history must include demonstrated knowledge of conducting security and safety inspections
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory/management role

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Must be able to clearly read, write and interpret business reports
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to coach, mentor and motivate employees to meet operational goals
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing, driving

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and driving. Minimal stooping or kneeling.
