Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Present a customer service approach to greeting and interacting with employees, clients, visitors, guests, and contractors
  • Observe and report any suspicious or irregular activities or conductions that may create security or safety hazards
  • Provide an exceptionally high level of service, knowledge and dedication to site staff and visitors; work closely with client staff to ensure visitor needs are addressed and handled appropriately
  • Represent client by serving as an extension of the organization to executives, staff, and visitors
  • Remain abreast of daily client events through bulletins, intranet releases, communication with key personnel and receptionist
  • Assist client executives, administrative staff, security staff, and visitors with light administrative assistant duties including but not limited to: copying, faxing, and answering phones
  • Partner with client personnel and gain an in-depth understanding of the client’s principles, values, goals, and vision
  • Ensure that unexpected visitors have proper authorization before permitting their entry
  • Answer telephones in a friendly, professional manner, taking messages with accuracy
  • Assist in coordinating arrivals of executive visitors; implement security policies and procedures established by client management with regard to arriving and departing visitors, VIPs, etc.

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by the State of California

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Prior work experience with customer service or receptionist duties in a high-profile corporate environment
  • Prior work experience involving direct interaction with executive-level clientele and guests

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail


  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity:        Working on PC and using telephone/radio while sitting

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching.
