In this position, you will be responsible for administering the security contract and ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. This position will act as G4S liaison with the client, law enforcement agencies, customers, Project Site Manager (PSM) and employees. This position is also responsible for management oversight and driving operational accountability through effective change management and leadership development processes.  The Operations Manager plans, organizes, directs, and controls the operational and administrative activities of the contract on a day to day basis as well as proposing and implementing proactive measures to improve performance and expand the operation.  This individual is directly accountable for the success, performance, compliance, and public perception of the program.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Secondary liaison between G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc. and client senior management; manage the daily security operations of the client's data center; implement corporate security directives; build community partnerships with local law enforcement agencies; provide emergency response as necessary
  • General Operations management; review post orders and make recommendations to corporate security when updates should be considered; review daily log reports and provides pass downs as required; responsible for officers meeting company standards pertaining to quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all company policies and procedures including worldwide business standards; ensure the security team receives required training on a consistent basis; implement security programs; ensure physical security measures and practices are enforced to insure client directives are carried out continuously
  • General Human Resources management; participate in selection and placement, conduct performance reviews, manage attendance, and conflict resolution; scheduling; payroll
  • Review alarm system open/close reports, compile exception reports and forward to appropriate security manager/operations manager for review
  • Provide monthly report to the facilities and corporate security organizations detailing all pertinent activities that have occurred in the previous month concerning any security and safety issues
  • Administer G4S Safety Program; semi-annual review and revise the security Emergency Response plan; conducting risk assessments; participate in safety meetings, attend any/all on-site meetings involving security related processes
  • Conduct and document monthly testing of security systems; follow through on any corrections/maintenance issues; conduct weekly/ monthly/quarterly audits


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
  • Must possess a High school diploma or equivalent with 7 years of experience assisting in the operational management of a large semi-independent business enterprise
Type and Length of Specific Experience Required
  • Work history to include each of the following:
    • Managing emergency preparedness and response procedures
    • Implementing corporate security directives, building community partnerships with local law enforcement and emergency response agencies, implementing security programs, managing security personnel, conducting risk assessments, enforcing physical security measures and practices to ensure the client directives are carried out on an ongoing basis
    • Leading a diverse team of security personnel
    • Proven ability to make decisions without management present based upon security operational guidelines

Skills Required

  • High aptitude with computer systems to include closed circuit television systems, access control
  • Strong administrative and leadership abilities necessary to manage the daily security operations of client's data center
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changes
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the State, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
  • Upon acceptance of a job offer, must be able to pass the following:
    • MMPI - Psychological testing
    • Physical exam

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Office with minimal to no extreme temperatures expected

Major activity: Working on PC while sitting; telephone use

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, light lifting, and limited stretching and reaching.
