The Bank Captain plays a major role in the operations of G4S as it relates to the Bank of America portfolio of accounts. In this position, you will be the liaison between the client's Protective Services Management and G4S management. You must understand all G4S policies and procedures, all client contractual policies and procedures, as well as appropriate state regulations. In addition, you will be primarily responsible for security services encompassing armed security personnel assigned to various banking centers.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Direct supervision of all Bank Protection Officers to include, site assignments, disciplinary actions, training and payroll
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents and suspicious activities
  • Maintain written logs as required by the client
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors
  • Update procedures as required and/or requested by client
  • Train new employee on the use of Secure Trax
  • Maintain all records for armed carry permit paperwork as required by G4S


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid and current Retired Law Enforcement New Jersey Permit to Carry a weapon
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a NJ Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) License
  • Must be able to pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have one (1) year of prior civilian or military law enforcement or corrections experience
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • One (1) year prior supervisory experience
    • One (1) year of service demonstrating the ability to supervise other security personnel in a leadership role

  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

Other

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the State, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
  • Upon acceptance of a job offer, must be able to pass the following:
    • MMPI-Psychological testing, if required by client contract
    • Reliability Assessment testing, if required by client contract
    • Physical exam, if armed or required by client contract

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting; Minimal to no stooping or kneeling
