As a Badging Officer, you will be responsible for processing security and access permissions for the client's new employees and contractors, as well as existing personnel, visitors and others requiring building access. The Badging Officer will also activate or deactivate photo identification cards,  program of access using the Matrix software program, monitor CCTV, alarm programming for guard responses, answer security telephones, office filing, record keeping, and other similar duties as specified in post orders.​

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Create badges for new employees assigned to the client and remove terminated employees from the system
  • Answer all calls coming into the security office or command center
  • Ensure all reports are filled out correctly and ensure they are filed and retained by the company standards
  • Assist with monitoring CCTV, follows up on all incident reports from the field, and other duties assigned to the position
  • Permits authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
  • Monitor all communication devices to include but not limited to: phones, emails or online requests.
  • Report all issues that cannot be resolved within scope of work to supervisor and manager
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by the State of California

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of one year of experience in each of the following:
    • Utilizing Microsoft Word in a professional or educational setting
    • Operating a badging/access control system
    • Providing administrative support in a protective service industry
    • Operating CCTV console/equipment

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • To qualify for this position you must have:
    • Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
    • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity:        Working on PC and using telephone while sitting

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:      Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching
