The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Response Team Leader - Assistant Security Shift Supervisor. The Response Team Leader (RTL) shall be armed, uniformed members of the response force and shall be qualified for such duty. They shall be responsible to the Security Shift Supervisor (SSS) in the exercise of supervisory functions on their respective shifts. The RTL is responsible for directing the security force during a contingency response. This position ensures compensatory measures for degraded/malfunctioning security equipment are implemented in a timely manner and in accordance with site procedure. They are responsible for supervising and evaluating the conduct and performance of the security officers in his/her assigned unit or team. They shall perform armed post duty assignments and or Central and Secondary Alarm Station Operator (CSO) duties when manpower requirements are below minimum, fulfill responsibilities common to all supervisory positions as directed or required, and perform the duties of the Security Shift Supervisor (SSS) in their absence. They will utilize the client’s Corrective Action Program to identify and resolve unwanted conditions.  The RTL will also ensure that daily shift operations are conducted with safety as the number one priority and he/she will ensure that a healthy Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE) is modeled and maintained.

They shall be trained and qualified to the perform the duties of an armed officer and responder, (CSO) and Security Shift Supervisor (SSS).  The RTL is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and facility and company policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.  The RTL performs post inspections, assigns work to employees, issues weapons and equipment, and handles employee issues and concerns.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Provides supervision and work direction for security force members
  • Directs the security force during a contingency response
  • Supervises, observes, and evaluates the job performance of security force members
  • Conducts post inspections
  • Provides training, coaching, and mentoring for security officers
  • Provides counseling and discipline for identified deficiencies in security officer performance
  • Issues weapons and equipment to security force members
  • Conducts performance reviews for security force members
  • Reports any issues or concerns about the performance of security equipment or security force members to Security Shift Supervisor (SSS) or management 
  • Implements proper compensatory measures in a timely manner
  • Conducts shift briefing, as required
  • Reviews paperwork generated during shift for accuracy and completeness and corrects any discrepancies
  • Ensures that all inventories of security equipment are properly completed
  • Ensures that security equipment testing is properly performed
  • Performs as a Response Team Leader (RTL)
  • Fills in for the Security Shift Supervisor (SSS), if qualified

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain all necessary state or federal licensing requirements
  • Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain armed officer and responder certification, Central and Secondary Alarm Station and Security Shift Supervisor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements and site Training and Qualification plan

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of successful service as a Nuclear Security Officer - Armed
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, security or a related military field

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Office; indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity:  Working on PC while sitting; telephone use; walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Standing, bending, sitting, stooping, maneuvering up to 30 pounds of equipment or gear, stretching and reaching
