Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Employee Engagement: Ensure strategies are implemented in the Region which enhance employee engagement and drive employee retention; provide leadership to the employee relations effort to include proactive management / employee relationships and high-quality issue resolution
  • In partnership with HR Shared Service, deliver a high-quality recruiting, hiring and onboarding process
  • KPIs – measure, monitor and adjust
  • Respond to employee complaints relating to equal opportunity, sexual harassment, terminations, etc.; coordinate necessary investigation of same
  • Manage the HR, Training and Health and Safety resources within the Region directly, matrixed to local management
  • Participate in G4S compliance initiatives; provide expert-level guidance and support to internal audit and legal teams
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Rigorously enforce compliance with equal opportunity and diversity regulations while moving beyond compliance to develop a genuinely inclusive working environment
  • Oversee the design and implementation of the Region Affirmative Action Plan and modification of same
  • In partnership with Legal, serve as liaison with DOL/OFCCP/EEOC and appropriate state Fair Employment Practices (FEP) agencies
  • Support all human resources department functions as needed

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management/Administration, Business, or other closely related field of study

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in different functionalities of a Human Resources department of a large enterprise
  • Significant experience with effective employee engagement and retention
  • Significant experience with coaching and counseling senior management peers
  • Experience working with labor relations
  • Significant experience managing a direct team of employees and managing in a complex, matrixed environment

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail


  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Office; indoor with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures expected

Major activity:        Working on PC while sitting; telephone use

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:      Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching, and reaching
