This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

We are actively seeking to recruit a Porter to join our team at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford OX3 7LD.

This will be a full time role working 37.5 hours per week, various shifts. The pay rate is £9.21 per hour. 

 

Job Summary:

As a Porter, you will be required to transport patients, equipment and goods as required, liaising and communicating with members of the public, patients and other hospital staff so as to provide a timely and efficient service. 

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Transfer patients using appropriate equipment and escort patients, visitors or staff as appropriate.  

  • Provide a collection and delivery service for specimens, blood products, medical records and any other items related to patient care as directed on the Hospital Site.

  • Collect, sort and deliver mail throughout the Hospital. Sort and where appropriate frank mail for onward distribution.

  • Move furniture and equipment within and between and throughout the Hospital Site.

  • Assist Security as required in dealing with non-violent, non-aggressive duties (e.g. traffic control).

  • Act upon, attend and assist Fire alarms, Lift Alarms, Attack Alarms and Bomb Alerts.
