Role Responsibility:

This role and contract sits within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

We have an opportunity for a Porter to join our team as part of our contract with Bedfordshire and Luton Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, supporting the East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT), managing health centres and outpatient clinics across the county.

This is a full time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30. The salary for this role is £8.91 per hour. 

 

Key Responsibilities and Daily Duties:

  • Carry out a full range of Portering duties, including driving.
  • Show flexibility in working to allow a range of duties to be completed efficiently.
  • Show a positive, helpful and caring attitude to patients, visitors and fellow employees at all times.
  • Promote the good image of the Trust, G4S and Portering service at all times.
  • Wear the specified uniform at all times and maintain a good standard of personal appearance.
  • Undergo regular training relating to all aspects of the duties performed.
  • Understand relevant Health and Safety requirements and be aware of individual responsibilities as an employee for the safety of others.
  • Be punctual on duty and respond as quickly as possible to requests for specified work, carrying a hospital bleep/radio as required by your Supervisor or Manager.
  • Deliver and collect meals, disposable items, pharmacy boxes and drugs, specimens, blood, patient notes and other documents, equipment, furniture and machinery etc.
  • Clean the Van and working equipment.
