The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Global Security Operations Center Operator. As a Global Security Operations Center Operator, you will be directly responsible for the dispatching and coordination of security responses to all activities and incidents occurring at the client’s various facilities. The GSOC Operator uses various computer systems to monitor communications, alarm systems, and cameras for multiple locations simultaneously. The GSOC Operator is also responsible for the recognition and proper escalation of critical and unusual events to the client’s management team and other stakeholders as appropriate.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

 

  • Monitor all security, communications, and fire/life safety systems within the designated region via the provided monitoring systems
  • Serve as the liaison between all departments and the Security Department
  • Handle (without delay) complaints and unusual/critical event information to Shift Supervisor, Account Manager, and Security Director
  • Directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine, and unusual, events occurring on, or near, the facilities (accomplished via shift reports, pass-downs logs, incident reports, incident reports logs, or other established methods)
  • Control and monitor the two-way communication systems, to include dispatching security officers to locations
  • Complete “Task work orders" for all reported maintenance needs
  • Inform (without delay) the Shift Supervisor I Account Manager of any missing, damaged, or inoperative equipment, or communications, alarm, CCTV, or other systems
  • Proactively monitor all surveillance cameras, and CCTV remote viewer programs. Monitors and responds to all security/life safety system alarms
  • Answer, and respond, to events and situations received over regular, and emergency, phones and intercoms
  • Speak clearly, give direction, and provide guidance to employees and security staff during emergencies

 


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to meet and maintain any applicable state licensing requirements

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following
    • Associate’s Degree or higher in any discipline
    • Service in the active duty military, military reserves or National Guard
    • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets
    • Meaningful and verifiable work history
    • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • To qualify for this position you must possess:
    • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
    • Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Typing speed minimum 40 wpm
    • Must have access to reliable transportation
    • Ability to multi-task, discerns patterns in detail
    • Ability to think through problems for logical solutions, and remain calm and professional under stress
    • Ability to think critically and  make informed decisions with minimal oversight
    • Ability to give direction, and provide guidance, to employees and security staff during emergencies and communicate effectively and clearly in a high volume work environment
    • Ability to understand an follow procedures and job aids
    • Basic geographical knowledge and the ability to interpret maps and blueprints
    • Possess a high level of integrity and demonstrate an assertive yet professional attitude in the handling of all tasks and responsibilities
    • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on working as part of a team
    • Comfortable with high tech work environment, with various software systems running on multiple displays and willingness to learn new technology tools and innovations
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
