The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Control Center Operator. As a Control Center Operator, you will monitor intelligence, security alerts, weather, and natural disaster alerts, from various sources provided by a high profile client. The Control Center Operator will determine the potential impact to client and alert appropriate (pre-designated) client personnel as well as field calls from client locations globally requiring assistance as well as reporting incidents and initiating the notification process as required.

The Control Center Operator will document all activity to include keeping records and disseminating information to appropriate personnel. He or she will utilize CCTV, remote monitoring devices, access control, alarms, news wire, and other client specified technologies to accomplish this mission.

The Control Center Operator should be prepared to operate a patrol vehicle, respond to suspicious circumstances and trespassers along with supporting standard day-to-day security operations as needed and more so in the event of an critical event or emergency

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Operate and monitor computer workstations and emergency systems
  • Administrate and maintain process control systems and database used in the Security Control Center
  • Dispatch and coordinate with the security officer, response to security events that occur on client property, including medical emergencies, burglar, fire or duress alarms and other issues related to security operations
  • Provide liaison with law enforcement and emergency services as needed
  • Receive, evaluate and disseminate incoming information and reports, including information from security personnel, Officers in the field, employees, suppliers and local agencies
  • Assist in coordinating security service requests for afterhours access and temporary Security Officer deployment
  • Provide client ID badge services including operation of ID badge creation systems and administrations of associated database and programs
  • Maintain security services records and files used in the Security Control Center
  • Provide reports as directed and daily reports
  • Coordinate security projects and special assignments as assigned by client security
  • Generate maintenance requests and Field Service Reports as appropriate
  • Complete Daily Activity Reports, logging all activities and assignments during assigned shift
  • Provide written and electronic pass down information and updates for incoming shift
  • Initiate incident reports and "Be on the Lookouts" (BOLOs) as necessary

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • If previously employed, must possess meaningful and verifiable work history

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail


  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Office/Control Center; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity: Working on PC while sitting or standing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, and limited stretching and reaching.
