Job Introduction:

G4S  UAE is currently looking for an experienced Operations Director for our Electronic Security Solutions (ESS) Division based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible to lead and develop the ESS division of the organization; to give strategic guidance and direction to the divisional management and staff to ensure that ESS division achieves its financial goals and objectives.  He/she will  develop business strategies and operational plans for the Division and oversee their implementation through appropriate delegation of responsibility and authority.

Role Responsibility:

  • Direct and control the work and resources of the ESS division and ensure the recruitment and the retention of the required numbers and types of well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves its mission and objectives.

  • Ensure that annual budget plans and annual business plans are prepared on time in accordance with G4S Guidelines. To ensure that the organization attain its objectives as cost–effectively and efficiently as possible.

  • Develop business strategies and help with identifying new customers, markets and services 

  • Monitor the performance of Employees through direct reports.

  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the ESS Project and / or operation managers, to keep them aware of developments within the Company and to ensure that the appropriate policies are developed to meet the organization’s mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations.

  • Establish and maintain formal and informal links with major customers, relevant government departments and agencies, key decision makers to exchange information and views and to ensure that the division is providing the appropriate range and quality of services.

  • Prepare, gain acceptance and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure targets are met, that revenue flows are maximized and that fixed costs are minimized.

  • Represent the organization in negotiations with the customers to secure the most effective contract terms for the organization.

  • Develop and maintain a total quality management system to ensure that the best services are provided to the clients.

  • Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures that the Company complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations.

  • Maintain appropriate level of employee performance through Project and / or operation managers. Ensure high levels of employee satisfaction.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or any related field from a reputable university, MBA is a plus 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in an operational leadership role with proven ability leading people and teams to deliver successful results

  • Must have excellent knowledge of the industry and a sound understanding of the leading suppliers and business partners needed to build a successful system business.

  • Exceptional project management skills.  

  • Must be customer focused and set the highest possible standards of customer service and delivery

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Strong business and commercial acumen

  • Autonomous and results orientated, with a clear determination to succeed.

  • Strong commitment and leadership skills.

  • Ability to maintain strong ethical and professional values.
