£54,125.83 per annum Plus Excellent Company benefits including Company Bonus Scheme, Pension Scheme
40 Hours per week, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
G4S Custodial & Detention Services (CDS) is one of the the leading private provider of custodial services in the UK and manages four successful prisons, two immigration removal centres, one secure training centre and a number of community contracts in England and Wales. We provide progressive environments dedicated to reducing re-offending and enabling individuals to fulfil their potential back in their local community and from the IRCs achieving successful returns to their home countries.
HMP/YOI Parc is situated in Bridgend, South Wales. It is a category B/C training prison which looks after a complex range of male prisoners with a discreet 60 bed unit for 15 – 18 year old children. The population is currently 1,699, which makes it a busy and challenging environment.
Parc has a reputation for delivering a high level of performance and innovative projects. The work we also do with children and families of offenders has been described as an example of excellence and has been recognised with a number of national awards.
We are now looking for a Functional Head to join the Senior Management Team at HMP YOI Parc. To succeed in this role, you will be a dynamic and engaging individual, who shares our ethics and values. You must deliver an exceptional service and can be flexible in working in diverse functions within the prison. You will also need to have excellent communication skills and be able to motivate and empower staff to deliver outstanding results. A proven leader, you will inspire your team and have the ability to win hearts and minds.
In this role, we expect you to create a positive and diverse working environment and lead on a number of critical areas:
- Promote a rehabilitive culture focussed on reducing reoffending
- Developing individuals to maximise their potential
- Promoting equality, decency and wellbeing within the Prison
- Manage operational incidents and to be in charge of the prison as part of a scheduled roster at evenings and weekends.
- Liaising with external bodies, developing effective customer/client relationships
- Building relationships within the community; have the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders and have a high degree of self-awareness.
