Job Introduction:

The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for an Armed Nuclear ISFSI Security Supervisor. As an Armed Security Supervisor, you will provide physical protection of nuclear Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) facilities
against intrusion and acts of sabotage. Conduct ISFSI surveillance; control access and/or egress of
personnel, vehicles and materials; monitor plant surveillance equipment and alarm systems;
compose reports; deter criminal activity, misconduct, and safety violations; respond to medical, fire,
and hazard emergencies as required; and perform other duties as specified in nuclear training and
qualification plan, site procedures, and post orders. The Armed Security Supervisor will perform duties to support site maintenance as directed. and provide supervision for on-shift ISFSI Specialist I personnel. You will ensure the ISFSI is properly staffed and perform all tasks and maintain ability to perform duties of basic Security Officer ISFSI 1.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Maintain compliance with all site policies, procedures, and directives
  • Assess alarms, investigate and report suspicious activities and/or circumstances
  • Identify safety and/or fire hazards and make recommendations for improvement
  • Report degradation, deficiencies and accidents in accordance with current procedures and take appropriate corrective actions as directed by Security force Supervision
  • Control access of personnel, vehicles and materials into the protected area and maintain appropriate log
  • Perform all site and fire watch patrols and maintain appropriate logs
  • Perform site maintenance as directed to include but not limited to snow removal, garbage removal, housekeeping, and landscaping duties
  • Perform compensatory postings and escort duties as directed by Security Force Supervision and in accordance with current procedures and directives
  • Perform surveillance tests and inspections and test alarm and maintain appropriate logs
  • Respond to contingency events in accordance with appropriate procedures and as directed by Security Force Supervision
  • Participate in security drills, practical exercises and required training programs as directed
  • Maintain periodic qualification of academic requirements including (Radiation protection, Access authorization, Emergency plan, etc.)
  • Maintain periodic qualification of armed response, physical fitness and weapon requirements as required for ISFSI assignment
  • Adhere to regulatory fatigue orders and work hours tracking requirements relative to ISFSI
  • Ensure house-keeping expectations are met
  • Maintain all required qualifications for site access
  • Performs duties of Emergency Director for Emergency Plan Implementation per
  • Emergency Plan Procedure
  • Operate or supervise the operation of ISFSI equipment and controls important to safety including ISFSI storage casks, Transfer Cask Basket, and handling activities
  • Determine ISFIS reportability and operability
  • Supervise Security Officers (ISFSI Specialist I)
  • Ensures the ISFSI is properly staffed
  • Performs duties of Emergency Director for Emergency Plan Implementation per Emergency Plan Procedure


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Experience with nuclear/ISFSI security

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to work varying shifts to cover a 24-hour/seven-day a week operation including mandatory overtime
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain all training and qualifications required for the position
  • Must be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors and surveillance equipment
  • Must demonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat
