Job Introduction:


The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for an Armed Nuclear ISFSI Project Manager. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the physical protection of nuclear Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) facilities against intrusion and acts of sabotage.  This position conducts ISFSI surveillance, controls access and/or egress of personnel, vehicles and materials, monitors plant surveillance equipment and alarm systems, composes reports, deters criminal activity, misconduct, and safety violations, responds to medical, fire, and hazard emergencies as required, and perform other duties as specified in nuclear training and qualification plan, site procedures, and post orders. The Project Manager performs duties to support site maintenance as directed and provides supervision and oversight for all on-site G4S Security personnel.  Ensures the ISFSI is properly staffed. Validates and oversees training. Direct oversight of Human Resources and Administrative functions and perform all associated functions as applicable.  Performs labor relations as applicable. Performs as the primary G4S contractor representative on-site and point of contact. Ensures contract and regulatory compliance. Addresses discipline, violations, safety issues, and employee concerns. Performs all tasks and maintains ability to perform duties of basic ISFSI Security Officer I , ISFSI Security Supervisor II and ISFSI Assistant Project Manager III incorporated in this job description, as required.

Implements and ensures compliance to G4S/RSS policies, procedures and programs on site. Compiles and provides monthly and quarterly reports to corporate office that include human performance errors, overtime and attendance, Team Achievement Program (T.A.P), Incentive/Bonus, PA fund, regulatory and safety performance, employee hiring/attrition and current events.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Maintain compliance with all site and G4S/RSS policies, procedures, and directives
  • Assess alarms, investigate and report suspicious activities and/or circumstances
  • Identify safety and/or fire hazards and make recommendations for improvement
  • Report degradation, deficiencies and accidents in accordance with current procedures and take appropriate corrective actions as directed by Security force Supervision
  • Control access of personnel, vehicles and materials into the protected area and maintain appropriate log
  • Perform all site and fire watch patrols and maintain appropriate logs
  • Perform site maintenance as directed to include but not limited to snow removal, garbage removal, housekeeping, and landscaping duties
  • Perform compensatory postings and escort duties as directed by Security Force Supervision and in accordance with current procedures and directives
  • Perform surveillance tests and inspections and test alarm and maintain appropriate logs
  • Work varying shifts to cover a 24-hour/seven-day a week operation including mandatory overtime
  • Respond to contingency events in accordance with appropriate procedures and as directed by Security Force Supervision
  • Participate in security drills, practical exercises and required training programs as directed
  • Maintain periodic qualification of academic requirements including (Radiation protection, Access authorization, Emergency plan, etc.)
  • Maintain periodic qualification of armed response, physical fitness and weapon requirements, as required for ISFSI assignment.
  • Adhere to regulatory fatigue orders and work hours tracking requirements relative to ISFSI
  • Ensure house-keeping expectations are met
  • Maintain all required qualifications for site access
  • Write required reports, procedures, and keep records per procedure or as directed.
  • Operate or supervise the operation of ISFSI equipment and controls important to safety including ISFSI storage casks, Transfer Cask Basket, and handling activities as applicable  
  • Determines ISFSI reportability and operability
  • Supervises Security Officers and Security Supervisors(ISFSI Specialist I and II), Assistant Project Manager (ISFSI Specialist III), Facilities Specialist and Administrative Assistant
  • Ensures the ISFSI is properly staffed
  • Performs 10CFR 50.59 and 72.48 screens as directed
  • Operates the ISFSI Site Diesel Generator
  • Performs duties of Emergency Director for Emergency Plan Implementation per Emergency Plan Procedure
  • Maintains electrical power to all vital ISFSI Site loads
  • Perform labor relations as applicable
  • Validates and oversees training and efficiency of the security force
  • Ensures that inspections, audits, and tours are performed
  • Reviews and performs evaluations for Security Officers and Security Supervisors(ISFSI Specialist I and II), Assistant Project Manager (ISFSI Specialist III), Facilities Specialist and Administrative Assistant
  • Reviews positive identification and authorization access controls to ensure integration
  • Acts as the primary G4S contractor representative on-site and point of contact
  • Ensures contract and regulatory compliance
  • Addresses discipline, violations, safety issues, and employee concerns

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must submit to any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have prior work experience with the supervision and administration of nuclear/ISFSI security

  • Be able to successfully complete and maintain all training and qualifications required for the position including but not limited to:
    • Security and Training Qualification Plan requirements
    • Thermodynamic and heat transfer theory as applicable to ISFSI operations
    • Nuclear decay heat generation applicable to ISFSI storage
    • Criticality considerations applicable to ISFSI storage
    • Health Physics/Radiation protection
    • Equipment design features and operating characteristics of ISFSI structures and components
    • ISFSI Technical Specifications and selected operating emergency and administrative features
  • Be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors and surveillance equipment.
  • Demonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public

  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat
