Job Introduction:

The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Nuclear Alarm Station Supervisor Lead. In this position, you will be responsible for supervising and evaluating the conduct and performance of the security officers in his/her assigned unit or team.  He or she is qualified to perform the duties of the Central Alarm Station (CAS) or Secondary Alarm Station (SAS) operator.  This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and facility and company policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.  This supervisory position performs post inspections, assigns work to employees, issues weapons and equipment, and handles employee issues and concerns.

This position supervises, observes, and evaluates the job performance of Security Officers, provides coaching, mentoring and discipline as needed, and provides performance reviews to those officers in his/her assigned unit. This position also ensures all duties are performed with safety as the number one priority and fosters and models a healthy Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE). The Sergeant/Alarm Station Supervisor Lead is required to maintain the physical fitness requirements and range qualifications for a site Armed Responder.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

 

  • Provides supervision and work direction for security officers
  • Performs the duties of a Central Alarm Station (CAS) or Secondary Alarm Station (SAS) operator
  • Supervises, observes, and evaluates the job performance of Security Officers
  • Conducts post inspections
  • Provides training, coaching, and mentoring for Security Officers
  • Provides counseling and discipline for identified deficiencies in security officer performance
  • Assists with hiring, promotion, and termination processes, as appropriate
  • Issues weapons and equipment to security force members
  •  
  • Conducts performance reviews for Security Officers
  • Reports any issues or concerns about the performance of security equipment or security officers to senior supervision or management 
  • Implements proper compensatory measures in a timely manner
  • Conducts shift briefing, as required
  • Reviews paperwork generated during shift for accuracy and completeness and corrects any discrepancies
  • Ensures that all inventories of security equipment  are properly completed
  • Ensures that security equipment testing is properly performed
  • Is able to fill in for a Lieutenant / Assistant Team Leader, if certified
  • Maintain the physical fitness requirements and range qualifications for a site Armed Responder


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to possess and maintain state required license(s) for armed assignment
  • Ability to possess and maintain Armed Officer and Responder certification in accordance with regulatory requirements and site Training and Qualification plan

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of two (2) years as an armed Nuclear Security Officer and Armed Responder

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and maneuvering up to thirty pounds of equipment or gear.
