Role Responsibility:

Night Administrator 

HMP Parc, CF35 6AP

36 hours per week (3 x Nights)

3 or 4 nights a week. Shifts are 7.30pm to 7.30am and contracted hours are negotiable. 

 

£23,290.77 per annum

 

Job Outline: To provide an effective and efficient administration service to a functional/departmental team. Night shift admin work, preparing paperwork for day nurses . The successful applicant will be working alongside a registered nurse and a healthcare assistant. There will be opportunities to improve knowledge of working in a healthcare setting but experience is not essential, however, successful applicants will be expected to complete training in Basic Life Support in order to support members of the nursing team in medical emergencies.

Working across Secure, Custody and Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC) across the UK, we provide primary care and forensic healthcare to a wide range of patients. HMP Parc is a Category B men's private prison and Young Offenders Institution in Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan, Wales and is the only privately operated prison in Wales. We currently hold 1600 men.

 

Job Description:

  • Organise specialist appointments for detainees, liaising with relevant departments and key stakeholders. Record and document accordingly. 
  • Maintain effective work systems, ensuring that all correspondence and documentation is dealt with in a professional manner and meets audit requirements. 
  • Provide a full administrative service so that the needs of the functional/departmental team are met. 
  • Act as receptionist for the Healthcare department, receiving detainees and visitors in a courteous manner, ensuring that they are booked in and the relevant contact is notified. 
  • Organise and coordinate meetings, diaries, events and travel arrangements 
  • Maintain comprehensive stocks of all forms and documentation required by the function/department so that it is available when required. 
  • Collate, produce and distribute management information and statistics so that individuals and departments receive accurate up to date information to enable informed decision making.
  • Communicate effectively with appropriate others to minimise risk. 
  • Deal with all routine queries so that an appropriate response is provided. 
  • Ensure the maintenance of security within the detention environment by compliance with security instructions. 
  • To work at all times within the bounds of confidentiality, adhering to data protection and maintaining Caldicott Guidelines. 
  • To operate within the equality and diversity framework. 
  • Participate in bi annual Employee Development Review (EDR). 
  • Be prepared to undertake training and development appropriate to role. 
  • Any additional duties as negotiated with your Line Manager.
