About our Site:
HMP Altcourse in Liverpool is a Category B local prison receiving sentenced and remand young offenders and adult male prisoners from the courts in Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales. The prison can accommodate 1,324 prisoners in safe custody.

Job Spec:

  • To work as part of the Integrated Mental Health Team providing health and social care, under supervision from a registered nurse, to ensure an efficient health and social care service is delivered in line with professional, contractual and company standards.
  • Prepare and deliver mental health awareness days for offenders to inform and raise awareness 
  • Prepare and distribute mental health distraction packs and information to offenders
  • Provide mental health advice and guidance on both a 1 to 1 and group work basis
  • Prepare and deliver mental health workshops offering various mental health guidance
  • Work alongside qualified healthcare professionals to deliver clinics and treatments, including health promotion initiatives as agreed by Line Manager.

 


The Ideal Candidate:

Essential:

  • Experience of working within a healthcare environment
  • Able to demonstrate a good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Able to provide examples of diversity in practice
  • Able to work within challenging and complex situations
  • Evidence of ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels

 

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 Care
  • Experience of working within a secure environment
  • Evidence of working within a ‘value for money’ service
  • Driving Licence

 

£1500 Golden Hello bonus (paid in 3 installments*)
