Role Responsibility:

We have an opportunity for an Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team as part of our contract with Greenwich BSF. This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

This is a full time role working 40 hours per week covering shifts Monday to Friday either from 07:00 - 16:00 or from 10:00 - 19:00.


Job Outline: 

Working within the Hard FM delivery of the Greenwich contract, you will resolve any queries of a Technical or Performance nature.

You will liaise regularly with the Hard Services Manager, client and operational team to ensure that work being carried out fully meets their requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a hands-on delivery of reactive & planned maintenance for electrical maintenance services within planned maintenance procedures for assets effectively and safely.
  • Carry out maintenance inspection and repairs to various types of heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical and security equipment and services on site, where necessary .
  • Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and damage to assets.
  • Ensure that all reactive and maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard within the contracted SLA’s.
  • Diagnose faults on all Mechanical & Electrical services systems, rectifying where necessary.
  • Provide a client-facing interface to ensure a high level of communication is delivered to the client.
  • Manage subcontractor work performance as and when required for site attendance.
  • Produce clear and concise written reports in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all G4S & client employees and representatives.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria:

  • CG-Level 3 / NVQ 3 in a Building Services Engineering or  a recognised apprenticeship or training in Electrical / Mechanical / Air Conditioning  Engineering  OR 5 years experience in a similar role or environment.
  • Electrical Installations BS7671:2008 (2015) or equivalent.
  • Electrically qualified with City and Guilds or 17th/18th Edition Training.
  • Asbestos Training  (UKATA or equal).
  • ACOP L8 Awareness.
  • Fire Risk Assessment Awareness.
  • Good knowledge of Statutory Compliance relating to Building Services and an understanding of M&E systems. 
  • Good Communication Skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work carefully, methodically and safely.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Prepared to be on out of hours call rota.
