Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management and Administration Recruiter in our HR Shared Services team, based in our Thornaby-on-Tees office.

This is a permanent position that will report into the Recruitment Team Manager.

The M&A Recruiter will be responsible for the delivery of the end-to-end recruitment process and accountable for a vacancy workload for the G4S management and admin population and the Fire & Security Services business.  Working with the Head of Resourcing and broader Resourcing Team to define and manage demand plans in line with business requirements, ensuring sufficient quality talent through proactive candidate generation and management. 

You will need to embed yourself in the business to understand the current reliance on recruitment agencies and identify opportunities to save cost via direct sourcing. You will proactively source candidates and manage them through the recruitment lifecycle from start to finish, including creating appropriate attraction and selection strategies and building market knowledge and networks.


The role will be based in the HRSS in Thornaby-on-Tees, however frequent travel to other G4S offices [for example, London] will be required.

Main Responsibilities

Work closely with Hiring Managers, Head of Resourcing and HR Business Partner to determine current and future business resource requirements

Designing attraction strategies and creating talent pools to ensure delivery against demand

Conduct detailed job briefings with Hiring Managers to understand requirements, creating attraction and selection strategies to suit the needs

Shortlist CVs and conduct initial telephone interviews to assess candidate suitability

Provide shortlist of suitable candidates to Hiring Managers for interview

Work closely with the Recruitment & Onboarding Administrator to coordinate interview scheduling and support Hiring Managers with the offer, screening and onboarding process

Analyse data on successes, opportunities for improvement and conversion metrics, including source effectiveness

Understand opportunity for cost reduction through direct sourcing, and set targets based on reduction in agency usage and spend

Build networks of potential candidates and maintain relevant, effective talent pools

Ensure effective candidate pipeline engagement to ensure engagement throughout the end to end process

Attend meetings with Functional Leads to report on performance and act as key point of contact for any M&A vacancies across the business

Liaise with other HRSS teams [ie Screening, Onboarding, Training] to ensure smooth transition of candidate handovers though internal process and act as a single point of contact to the candidate and Hiring Manager

Work with Head of Resourcing and Resourcing Business Partners to find new innovative tools and supporting continuous improvement

Drive best recruitment practice within the business, supporting operational leadership with advice and upskilling where required

Essential skills required

  • End-to-end recruitment experience, ideally within an internal recruitment team
  • Experience of recruiting technical / engineering and head office vacancies
  • Direct sourcing and talent pooling expertise
  • Experience of using a wide variety of sourcing tools including online and offline methodologies
  • Ability to analyse data on source effectiveness
