The general purpose and function of the Lead Shift Supervisor encompasses the professional operation, administration, profitability, and quality assurance of uniformed services for a single shift at a G4S client’s site. The Lead Shift Supervisor performs the duties of a security officer while providing lead direction and training to security officers and the Shift Supervisor. The Lead Shift Supervisor is responsible for observing and reporting daily activities, and providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. This position will also provide lead direction at assigned client site on a assigned shift, and act to ensure that post orders are followed, client SOP and corporate policies are adhered to, established rounds are completed, and that adequate reports are filed. The Lead Shift Supervisor also notifies proper authorities and client in emergency situations, and completes any other assignments directed by Site Supervisors and Managers.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Oversee the staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers assigned to his/her shift; counsel and discipline personnel as appropriate
  • Meet with employees and documents counseling and disciplinary actions; make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision
  • Assist in the training of Security Officers and review of client and security polices
  • Creating and implementing weekly Sector Schedules
  • Ensure weekly schedules are filled and no open posts exist
  • Assist in the submission of payroll and personnel information to the company as designated
  • Assist officers in completing payroll discrepancy forms and getting them submitted to the Scheduling/Payroll Specialist
  • Ensure adequate security coverage of all posts
  • Prepare files and submits various reports 
  • Inspect posts as scheduled and meets with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Service in the active duty military, military reserves, or National Guard
    • Service in the Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets
    • A minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience
    • Associate’s degree or higher in any discipline

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Environment:         Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity:        Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:      Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching.
