As a Site Supervisor, you oversee that all aspects of the security function on-site are performed in a diligent manner (staffing, scheduling, and on-site training all G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc. personnel assigned to his/her site). The JAC Site Supervisor ensures that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met, maintains overtime to a preset requirement designated by G4S, ensures quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel assigned to his/her site, performs other operations related functions (e.g., payroll, review and maintain incident reports, make uniform requests, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders), makes recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision, and responds to client requests.

The JAC Site Supervisor is a “working” supervisor and as such also manages the general conduct and behavior of detainees, the maintenance of discipline, and the custodial, life and social skills training, recreation, transportation and housekeeping functions. They must make every attempt to minimize adverse effects of confinement by supporting the detainee’s physical, emotional, educational, and social development in an atmosphere which is as nonthreatening as possible.

A Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) is a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year operation.  The JAC is an intake, booking and release facility for juveniles arrested in a county by law enforcement agencies.  The JAC Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the process of arrested juveniles to be received, photographed, searched, fingerprinted, running checks for outstanding warrants via FCIC/NCIC and reporting warrant hits to local law enforcement.  The JAC Site Supervisor shall be trained to effectively communicate, monitor and control the juvenile’s behavior.  The JAC Site Supervisor shall be trained in juvenile corrections techniques to physically control detained youth. The JAC Site Supervisor shall consistently report, document, log activities and remain vigilant in oversight of the juveniles.  The JAC Site Supervisor works closely with other onsite providers to facilitate the flow of information between the in-house agencies as they perform screening and court related functions.  The JAC Site Supervisor shall make proper notifications for emergency and non-emergency medical response (Example:  911 notifications for medical emergencies and addiction recovery facility for Use of Force evaluation) and generate reports on significant issues to include all “Use of Force” incidents.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Oversee all aspects of security at client site
  • Schedule and staff all personnel at his/her site
  • Manage all on-site training
  • Maintain payroll
  • Ensure all qualifications for site placement have been met
  • Ensure contract compliance
  • Maintain overtime to a preset requirement designated by G4S
  • Maintain an orderly disciplined environment on the shift while representing professionalism
  • Prepare detainees for admission, release and court appearances outside facility


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must submit to a state licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a Class D Security Officer License issued by the State of Florida

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have 5 or more years of documented supervisory experience in military or civilian juvenile or adult corrections
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Former or retired public law enforcement and/or corrections officer
    • Former or retired military law enforcement and/or corrections with a favorable discharge

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Must be able to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity:  Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Standing, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
