As a Human Resources Specialist, you will be involved in all aspects of human resources of the area office, to include selection and placement, recruitment process, personnel records, background investigations, group insurance administration and monthly reconciliation, workers' compensation, state licensing, unemployment claims and affirmative action planning. This position will provide administrative support to the area office, and provide support concerning employee relations and disciplinary action. The Human Resource Specialist will ensure compliance with corporate policies and applicable federal, state and local laws.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

 

  • Assist in selection and placement process (e.g., prepare application packets, hire packets, schedule interviews and pre/post employment training, enter data in the Human Resources Information System [HRIS])
  • Manage the applicant flow (via the online applicant tracking system,) to include efficient and pro-active data mining using the G4S Online Career Center
  • Ensure accurate entry and posting of personnel information into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), to include maintaining licensing and certification data for employees
  • Ensure compliance with employee personnel files, to include any contractual required forms and tests
  • Direct supervision of applicable administrative and specialist positions, assist with unemployment and worker's compensation reporting, and benefits administration, and open enrollment
  • Ensure overall contract compliance regarding employee basic qualifications, training and licensing
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws
  • Other duties as needed to ensure smooth operations of administrative and human resources related matters


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

 

  • Must have one of the following:
    • Minimum of 2 years of successful experience in human resources or personnel administration-related field
    • Minimum of 2 years of successful experience in recruitment with a strong administrative background

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
