Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR advisor to join the wider Human Resources team, operating on behalf of a large Public Sector Client. The role is primarily based in Belfast, with scope to work from home and travel to multiple client locations across Northern Ireland. 

The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive HR advisory service to all levels of the organisation. The primary objective of this role will be the delivery of proactive coaching, advice and upskilling of the management population on key HR processes and intiatives including TUPE, disciplinary, grievance, flexible working, wellbeing, and employee engagements. 

Main Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for providing competent HR advice and support to the management population, with a commercial and pragmatic approach in line with business practice and legal considerations (absence / performance / misconduct / capability)
  • Provide support to, and communicate effectively with HRBP
  • Develop and utilise accurate MI to identify trends and propose solutions in partnership with the HRBP
  • Enable business delivery of HR process timelines as defined within the relevant policies
  • Attendance and/or coaching at complex employee relation meetings
  • Maintaining accurate records covering all aspects of ER activities on company systems and advising on any patterns or matters of concern
  • Providing governance on the absence management process including occupational health and LTS.
  • Working proactively with the management population
  • Responding to employee queries within company SLA timeframes
  • Managing client specific screening processes (new application and renewals)
  • Supporting and undertaking other duties within the department as required

Ideal Candidate

Essential requirements:

  • 3 years experience in an ER related role
  • Previous experience in coaching and advising managers in HR matters, including disciplinary, grievance
  • CIPD qualified or working towards 
  • Able to form and maintain strong working relationships, eg. influencing, stakeholder management, having challenging conversations, building credibility within the operational management team.
  • Flexible approach to working demands and priorities, with the ability to work both independantly and remotely 
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Fully competent in Microsoft Office suite: particulary PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Full Driving Licence with access to own vehicle 

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of the security industry and Security Industry Authority 
  • Previous experience of business service outsourcing 
  • Experience in other HR related disciplines (resourcing and training)
