As a Business Unit within G4S, Custodial & Detention Services (CDS) is the leading private provider of custodial services in the UK and manages four prisons, two immigration removal centres, one secure training centre and a number of community contracts in England and Wales. We provide progressive environments dedicated to reducing re-offending and enabling individuals to fulfil their potential back in their local community, and, from the IRCs achieving successful returns to their home countries.

 

We now have an opportunity for an HR Administrator to join our team at HMP & YOI Parc, a category B prison, in Bridgend, South Wales, currently holding over 1600 men and young people in a secure but modern environment.

 

As an experienced HR Administrator, you will be used to working in a fast-paced environment and able to manage a variety of different tasks as well as being able to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will be highly organised with excellent interpersonal skills, provide administrative support to the HR Function in line with Company policy and procedures, and will be an integral part of the HR team.

 

Some of the key responsibilities for this role are:

 

  • Provide a full and robust monthly Payroll service, administering the payroll system and processes and answering queries to ensure accurate payment
  • Provide a full administrative service.
  • Create and maintain HR records, both computerised and manual for all staff
  • Collate, produce and distribute monthly and/or regular ad-hoc statisic reports for the HR Advisor/HR Officer
  • Assist in the co-ordination of Recruitment activities
  • Maintain effective work systems, ensuring that all correspondence and documentation is dealt with in a professional manner that meets audit requirements.
  • Organise and co-ordinate meetings, diaries and events
  • Maintain comprehensive stocks of all forms and documentation
  • Deal with all routine queries to ensure an appropriate response is provided.
  • Act in accordance with security and operational instructions at all times to ensure the maintenance of security within the secure environment.


The Ideal Candidate:

Excellent communication, good IT skills including Google, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
