Role Responsibility:

The Job:

  • The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for managing the day to day operations on the site,with regards Health and Safety 

  • Liaise with Clients on Health and Safety matters and advise accordingly

  • Develop and maintain a Health and Safety management system with procedures

  • Inspect plant rooms, work locations and working at height activities on a daily basis

  • Review, maintain and update the Health and Safety legal and risk register

  • Actively plan Health and Safety programs which will promote a positive reporting culture

  • Plan, review and implement an organized Chemical registers in stores as per OSHAD and COSHH

  • Plan, review and maintain an active list of risk assessment, HAZOP, and HAZID studies and registers

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Statutory requirements

  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses. Prepare closure reports and monthly reporting system

  • Audit service providers as per the Health and Safety requirements

  • Plan and conduct fire drills every 6 months with staff and service providers

  • Review plans and procedures submitted by service providers and contractors

  • Participate in the monthly fire tests and act as an advisor for improvements required

  • Maintain Incident Management Plan at site and actively participate in response to incidents

  • Prepare Incident Management programs and conduct frequent training

  • Plan and Conduct a Health and Safety training program for all site Management and service providers

  • Ensure to implement OSHAD regulations and standards

  • Update online BSS systems and disseminate programs as required

  • Update website portals with Fire Advice Cards as required

  • Review Life Fire and Safety reports and ensure compliance with required standards

  • Review Water hygienic reports and ensure compliance with standards

  • Be part of the Permit to work system and advice on improvements

  • Must have professional approach and quick decision making ability

Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Sciences, Engineering or Health and Safety is   preferable

  • Must have at least a NEBOSH IGC and other safety related certifications in the Health and Safety field.

  • Should have ISO 18001 and 14001 understanding and Internal Auditor Qualification

  • Possessing of Risk Assessment, Basic First Aid and Advanced Fire Fighting Training certification is highly recommended

  • Good communication skills in Arabic and English spoken and written

  • Good computer skills

  • Willing to work on shifting schedule
