G4S Employment Support Services (ESS) are looking to recruit a dedicated team across the North West of England to deliver the new RESTART employability programme on behalf of DWP.  

The RESTART contract will support individuals into long term employment across the North West through our network of Suppliers and Stakeholders and we are looking to recruit a team of individuals, in a variety of roles, to ensure the success of that delivery.

To apply for our roles you don't necessarily need experience in Employability or Welfare to Work but you do need to be enthusiastic about understanding the industry, passionate about delivering quality and success and have the skill set to meet the requirements of the role.


We are looking for a Head of Risk, this is a critical role and will be part of our leadership team with flexible location and remote working.

This is a great opportunity for a forward thinking and enthusiastic individual to shape the contract's approach to both risk and compliance. A strategic thinker you will help develop our Risk & Compliance integration plan as well as rolling out the risk management and control framework.


Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Embed a culture of excellent Governance and Compliance, ensuring regulatory conditions are met and evidenced.
  • Support in the development of contractual risk analysis frameworks and support the Supply chain to ensure that all compliance requirements of the contract are achieved.
  • Work with the Senior Management Team to ensure that policies and processes are robust and support the delivery of good performance. 
  • Provide input and support for continuous improvement.
  • Lead on the implementation and maintenance of ISO27001, Cyber Essentials and SOC.
  • Lead on the identification and reporting of  weaknesses with existing cyber security and monitor routine cyber health checks to identify vulnerabilities and test cyber security controls.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and commissioners to provide assurance that the business is mitigating any risks to the contract or business unit.
  • Lead the programme of work to deliver internal assurance activities and prepare for external audits.
  • Support with the development of all Compliance, Assurance and Risk training and documents.
  • Adhere to and inform the Data Governance Policy and internal and external compliance standards and regulations.
  • Manage a team of staff dedicated to the Compliance, Assurance and Validation of all elements of RESTART, ensuring their wellbeing needs are met as well as their performance objectives.
  • Devise and manage a validation framework to ensure the compliance of all financial claims and minimise the risk of extrapolation to both G4S and the Supply Chain.
  • Oversee the ability to provide oversight and assurance of the front line through sampling, testing, deep dives, thematic reviews and data gathering and analysis to ensure that policies and procedures are being applied appropriately and the Authority’s expectations are being met. Use this information to analyse the risk to the wider business and influence solution design.
  • Work collaboratively with supply chain partners where needed to support their improvement activities in the area of governance and assurance.
  • Conduct an annual review of all internal policies and processes and the Supply Chain ensuring that all meet the required standard.
  • Manage and take ownership of risk registers and relevant risk management data.
  • Oversee the delivery of effective and productive governance meetings.
  • Provide an escalation point for investigations into allegations and complaints as required to ensure comprehensive and accurate data is collected and responded to appropriately in line with company policies.
  • Take responsibility for the compilation of relevant data/minutes/actions and reports for Board consideration.


The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in a Senior Risk or Governance role in a similar industry.
  • The ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with key partners/stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop and embed processes.
  • Demonstrable ability to apply sound Ethical and Commercial judgment to complex risk and compliance matters.
  •  Strong personal attention to detail and ability to develop this in others.
  • UK Driving Licence.

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in a Senior Management role within the Employability industry.
  • A professional qualification in Risk Management, Audit, Compliance or a related field.
