Job Introduction:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated individual to lead the G4S Risk Consulting Intelligence Advisory Services team based in Victoria, London.  The Head of Intelligence Advisory Services role is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career in the intelligence and risk management arena in a management capacity.  The successful candidate will be driven to succeed, an excellent people manager with the ability to quickly build fruitful and effective business relationships both internally and in a sales capacity in the external market.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for effective management and service delivery of the G4S Risk Consulting Intelligence Advisory Services (IAS) department.  This will include delivering 10% year on year growth (of the IAS work stream) and maintenance of a realistic and achievable sales pipeline.

Role Responsibility:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Achievement of 10% year on year revenue increase for the Intelligence Advisory Services (IAS) revenue stream
  • Leading and managing the IAS team to achieve budgetary and operational targets for service line delivery including the Global Intelligence System (GIS), Journey Management and bespoke reporting services.

Personnel Management

  • Responsible for the direct line management of Senior Risk Analyst and 2 x Risk Analysts, ensuring all members of the team have the support they need to deliver to the best of their ability
  • Coaching and mentoring of team members as required to ensure optimum service delivery and individual personal development
  • To establish and reduce identified skill gaps, and recruit / retain high calibre risk analysts.


Business Development

  • Achievement of 10% year on year revenue increase for the Intelligence Advisory Services (IAS) revenue stream
  • Develop a pipeline of intelligence advisory opportunities
  • Manage the sales process as initial sales lead, through to proposal and contract negotiation (in conjunction with the Corporate Development team)
  • Generate future and repeat business based on delivery of products and services of exceptional quality
  • Preparation of proposal / tender documentation including generation of compelling client pricing models
  • Represent G4S RC at internal and external events
  • Sponsorship of technology innovation and product development to enhance IAS service delivery
  • Project management of new technology and product implementation where appropriate
  • Provide support to G4S Risk Consulting promotional activities that demonstrate our international security credentials.


Financial Management

  • Responsibility for implementing and managing the IAS service line budget
  • Responsibility for monthly reporting on delivery against revenue and profit targets
  • Responsibility for ensuring staff costs are correctly accounted for each month.


Workflow Management and Resourcing

  • Primary responsibility for ensuring work is delivered efficiently, to a high quality, and in a way which answers the client question
  • Effective planning, delegation and delivery of client tasks
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of global security and political risk issues, with particular regard to their potential commercial implications
  • Effective editorial and work proofing skills.

The Ideal Candidate:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven ability to convert excellent analytical skills into actionable commercial business offerings
  • Extensive experience in intelligence and security risk management processes
  • Extensive experience in a political and security risk analysis role, or similar
  • Able to quickly build strong, effective relationships with clients
  • Able to quickly assess client needs and develop compelling proposals
  • Demonstrable experience of working with online intelligence collection and dissemination platforms
  • Experience of having worked within a contracting environment and contributing to the development of bid and tender documents
  • Experience of operating in a service delivery role in a commercial environment
  • Extensive experience of conducting in depth threat and risk assessments
  • Experience of operating in a middle / senior management capacity
  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal)
  • Strong editorial skills
  • Demonstrable experience of effectively managing a team
  • Experience of effectively managing projects (ideal candidate will have a project management qualification, however this is not essential)
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas and arguments to colleagues of varying levels of seniority throughout the G4S Risk Management business (of which Risk Consulting is a part) and beyond.
