We are looking for a Head of Facilities Management (FM) to join our FM team to manage the Facilities Management Service delivery across HMP Oakwood. 

 

Reporting to the Director you will be responsible for meeting all statutory, mandatory and maintenance requirements in line with the Authority established baselines and contractual obligations within the approved financial parameters.

 

Responsible for the recruitment, training and ongoing support to the onsite FM team; compliance with extant legislation regarding Health and Safety at Work and maintaining 100% room availability within the teams capability.

 

To succeed in this role, you will be a dynamic and engaging individual, who shares our ethics and values. A proven leader, you will have the attention to detail necessary to deliver an effective and compliant facilities management service on a 24/7 basis.

 

It is key that you have the flexibility to deal with the ever-changing demands of a dynamic environment where the requirement to maintain a safe and decent environment is constant.  Coaching, supporting and motivating your team is an essential requirement in order to deliver this service to meet customer, commercial and contractual requirements.  You will oversee the production, maintenance and dissemination of comprehensive management information to ensure all relevant stakeholders are kept fully informed about the functionality and legislative compliance of the site.

 

In addition, you will manage the lifecycle process including being responsible for the life cycle model; including liaison with stakeholders to identify capital equipment replacement in order to minimise both operational and commercial risks.

 

As a contractual requirement of the role, you must be able to demonstrate that you have the following professional qualifications/experience:

  • Industry recognised qualifications e.g. HND, HNC, NVQ
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Legislation (qualification – IOSH/NEBOSH)
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations, as well as significant experience of in-house and outsourced facilities management service delivery
