Greenwich Schools PFI runs over 2 schools and delivers key services in Cleaning, Mechanical and Electrical systems (M&E), Premises Management and Full Lifecycle replacement.

We have an opportunity for a Hard Services Manager to join our team. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. The salary for this role is £45,000 per annum. You will also be provided with a Company Car.

 

As Hard Services Manager you will work as part of the Services team providing legislative and operational advice, guidance and support to operational management and sourcing specialist services where applicable to ensure that we are able to deliver consistent service delivery within contractual and financial parameters.

 

Other Key Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage the development and implementation of local and corporate policies and procedures within Hard Services so that a compliant service is delivered in line with strategy, legislation and corporate policy through the Site Managers and Site Service Technicians (SST’s).

  • To work with Site Managers and SST’s to ensure that the operational contract maintains legal compliance through appropriate documented processes and procedures. Ensuring that the organisation follows all relevant laws, regulations and business operating standards, delivering PPM’s against plan. 

  • Maintain knowledge of new technology, innovation and emerging new products, ensuring potential procurement of such items is commercially viable and appropriate to the business

  • To negotiate with specialist suppliers, taking into consideration costing and risk acceptance.

  • Provide information, recommendations and business plans to the COM and others as required to enable informed decisions concerning strategy to be made.

  • To audit and maintain the asset register within the contract at Greenwich.

  • Management of Sub contractors and works being undertaken working with them and the Hard Services Supervisor and SST’s.

  • Build and maintain relationships with the Procurement & Project Management Teams, regional team and keeping up to date with developments as appropriate.

  • Project Management and preparation of the Life Cycle & Maintenance plans for 1 -5 years through to instigation of works. 

  • The recording of actions as a result of audits on the action tracker, the management of these actions and their review on a regular basis.

  • Management of External and Internal audits relating to Hard Services.

  • To ensure Health & Safety is proactively managed and in compliance with the HASAWA.


The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria:

  • Mechanical & Electrical and Health & Safety Qualification (NEBOSH).

  • Competent in the use of Excel and Microsoft Project.

  • Experience of audit and compliance work  within the relevant building services.

  • Well developed Team working skills, with the ability to also work on your own initiative.

  • Operational knowledge of Hard FM services.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Commercially astute with a proven track record in advising on cost effective solutions, key technical delivery, implementation and full operational control.
