The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC) in Oxford has been treating patients with bone and joint problems for more than 80 years and has a world-wide reputation for excellence in orthopaedics, rheumatology and rehabilitation. The hospital can also undertake specialist services such as the treatment of bone infection and bone tumours, limb reconstruction and the rehabilitation of those with limb amputation or complex neurological disabilities.
G4S have the responsibility to deliver services in the following areas of the centre: Helpdesk, Patient and Retail Catering, Cleaning, Portering, Planned and Reactive Maintenance, Lifecycle Replacement, Grounds Maintenance, Pest Control, Linen, Security and Consumables.
We are seeking an experienced Hard FM Manager to lead the maintenance team within the G4S
Facilities Manager portfolio at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre is an
internationally renowned orthopaedic hospital, with strong affiliations to the University of Oxford.

This role will be accountable and responsible for the day-to-day management of all Hard FM
services, including PPMs, Reactives works, projects delivery and ensuring statutory and mandatory
compliance. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in managing
engineering Hard FM services within a PFI and / or health care environment. You will be an advocate
of solid processes and procedures, in order to ensure that the team of nine engineers are meeting
and exceeding contractual KPI’s and SLA’s. This role will play a key part in supporting the G4S FM
safety improvement plan in raising awareness and improving the culture across the portfolio.
To be successful in this role you will need proven experience of managing a team of 12+ within a
24/7 operation and offer support to other members of the management team.
The Ideal Candidate:
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
To manage and allocate resources to meet daily delivery schedules and business requirements for Hard Services within the prescribed budget.
To act as Authorised Person (AP) in one or more disciplines e.g. HV, LV, Medical Gas etc.
To act as coordinator for all APs in the team, ensuring compliance is met at all times.
To effectively manage supply chain partners in line with G4S Governance procedures.
To develop, improve and maintain an exceptionally strong working relationship with all key stakeholders.
To work closely with the Trust and SPC client, offering and sharing advice; knowledge, taking a joined up approach in relation to FM service delivery, inc Fire Safety, Water Management, Ventilation, Safety Management etc.
To lead, mentor and develop a multi skilled team to meet the Trust, client and operational demands.
To ensure that robust procedures and processes are in place and adhered to in order to maintain staffing levels appropriate to contractual requirements.
Management of the departmental budget and the collation of monthly and annual reports for ultimate submission to the client outlining activities, achievements and general operational performance for the reporting period.
