Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Hard FM Manager to work as part of the Facilities Management Team, undertaking a range of duties supporting direct operational activities such as direct staff costs, statutory compliance, contract compliance, consumable asset procurement, health and safety advice and sub contracted service review and procurement. The successful candidate will also develop value for money utilisation of the fixed asset base.



As Hard FM Manager, you will be client focused with excellent communication skills. You will co-ordinate and develop the mobile engineering team and ensure delivery of hard FM services to meet agreed SLAs. The team consists of 1 Electrical, 1 Heating and Plumbing and 1 Building Fabric Engineer who you will carry out Line Manager duties for and provide ongoing support training and development, ensuring succession developments plans are in place where appropriate including apprentices.


Some of your key responsibilities will include liaising with the contract helpdesk function with daily monitoring of the CAFM (Concept) system to plan and prioritise tasks, ensuring tasks are logged and liaise with the Facilities Manager and Site Managers to ensure tasks are completed within agreed timescales. Ensure health and safety, compliance (both statutory and non statutory) and technical audits are completed. Ensuring a standardised technical service delivery model is implemented. You will have a good understanding and demonstrable experience in successfully undertaking Project and Lifecycle works in a safe compliant manner and delivering best value on time, every time. You will also work alongside the G4S Projects Team to assist with development of Life Cycle plans. Energy management ensuring that buildings operate at optimum efficiency, including being the custodian of the Building Management System (BMS) and leading energy teams to embed a culture of conscious energy awareness.


You will provide support for the Account Manager on all aspects of Hard FM Services and act as deputy when required. The Hard FM Manager will be the appointed person in respect of the following but not limited to Fire Safety, Water Hygiene, Asbestos, and Lightning Protection, Working at Heights, F-Gas, Pressure Systems and LOLER.

Site Overview
The PFI contract comprises schools and health buildings across the country and employs over 400 staff.

 

This role would be based in the Leicester Schools PFI, covering four large secondary schools where G4S FM provides cleaning, mechanical and electrical systems maintenance, premises management and full Lifecycle.

The Ideal Candidate:

 

Essential Requirements

  • Experience of working in a PFI/PPP environment
  • Zero tolerance to harm in the workplace
  • Technical competence and operational experience within Hard FM
  • Experienced auditor
  • Proven experience of managing a team
  • Experience of CAFM system
  • Knowledge and experience managing a BMS (Trend front end)
  • Working knowledge and experience of H&S legislation
  • Full understanding of statutory compliance obligations for buildings and all assets
  • Competent to undertake and deliver training on Risk Assessments (including dynamic), Method Statements and Permit to Work procedures
  • Performance management of contractors/suppliers
  • On boarding of new contractors/suppliers
  • Project planning and successful safe, compliant execution
  • Full understanding of CDM requirements including items such Construction Phase Plans
  • Lifecycle
  • Hold full drivers licence
  • A recognised H&S qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH etc)

 

Desirable for this role

  • Qualified to minimum of HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline, and have legionella responsible person experience
  • Previous appointment as AP
  • Knowledge and demonstrable application of Lean principles
  • Management of Quality Management Systems
