Role Responsibility:

This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

We are looking for a General Operative to join our team based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 16:00. Overtime may also be available. 

The salary for this role is £22,000 to £24,000 per annum. In addition to this, full-time employees will receive a £1,000 annual retention bonus for each year with the company that clearance is held.

As General Operative you will act as a Handyperson, operating to deliver planned and reactive maintenance as allocated by the supervisor or line manager and responding as necessary to all incidents as directed to minimise business disruption and operational down time.

Activities may include fitting or dismantling shelves, whiteboards, TV mounts and carpet tiles, moving furniture and stores, cleaning plant areas and assisting other trades.

Other duties will include:

  • Overseeing on-site contractors as required.
  • Responding to defects, faults and client requests.
  • Maintaining records and producing simple reports as required.
  • Identifying material requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining day to day contact with client representatives.
  • Adhering to corporate security policies.

 


The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria:

  • Handy person skills - DIY-based or semi-skilled.
  • English language skills.
  • Microsoft Office familiarity – limited to Word and Excel.
  • Basic Knowledge of IT including email and calendar.
