Churchill Hospital is a centre of excellence for cancer services and other specialties, including renal services and transplants, clinical and medical oncology, dermatology, haemophilia, chest medicine and palliative care. 

In 2009 the hospital saw a major new development consisting of an integrated cancer and haematology Centre, a surgery and diagnostics centre and the Wytham Wing – housing the Wytham Ward (transplants) and private outpatients. 

G4S FM delivers the following services and employs circa 200 staff: Helpdesk, Patient and Retail Catering, Cleaning, Portering, Planned and Reactive Maintenance, Lifecycle Replacement, Grounds Maintenance and Pest Control.

We have an opportunity for an FM Design Manager  to join our team based at Churchill Hospital.  This is a full time position working 40hrs per week,  primarily Monday to Friday.


FM Design Manager is a dedicated role to manage and implement minor works & ensure that the O&M data library inclusive of the CAD database and data sheets is updated, as per contractual requirements.


Key Responsibilities will include:


  • Ensure that the CAD dataset, master drawings and O&M suite of documents are audit ready at all times in alignment with the definition set out in the contract.

  • Manage small works / variations (<£5k), inc producing and presenting relevant project proposals along with ensuring the relevant data sheets and drawings have been updated to reflect the building alterations. 

  • Maintaining capital project information into the maintenance records i.e. liaising with external consultants/contractors, PFI Estates Capital Teams, NHS FM Estates teams and the in-house projects offices 

  • Liaise with the project teams to ensure that all contract variations are captured and updated on the required formats across the contract inc updating the RDS

  • Where applicable, Act as the fulcrum for CDM compliance. 

  • Liaise with the Technical Compliance Manager to ensure that external audits are successfully completed and improvement plans derived and implemented. 

  • Deliver KPI’s based on the contract requirement.

  • Maintain professional relations with clients to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. 

  • Lead on asset verification and management in liaison with the CAFM central team.

  • Assist with Lifecycle replacement implementation. 

  • Responsible for identifying and resolving discrepancies between ‘As built structures’; and drawings and/or design intent i.e. reviewing/ analysing existing drawings, making a comparative review of asset data vs drawings and establishing an action plan to update the CAFM databases where required

  • Reviewing incoming drawings and specifications to ensure that they meet the design intent along with developing, implementing and enforcing drawing/design standards

  • Providing PPM Monitor with a monthly report on any updates (revisions) on the drawings. 

  • Assisting other members of the Hard FM team where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate:


Essential Criteria:

  • Proficient un the use of AutoCAD system & enhanced in manipulating and modifying M&E drawings

  • Previous  experience of small works project management

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • IOSH trained

  • Sound understanding of NHS FM environments and knowledge of relevant HTMs
