As an EMT Security Rover, you will fulfill walking/roving security duties as outlined by Client requirements (contractual or specialized) in accordance with G4S policy and procedures during assigned and additional special shifts. This position will respond to 911 calls and administer appropriate medical care; complete detailed medical reports, as applicable; follow up with patient care; conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of designated areas; watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

• Respond to on-shift emergencies and give direction to field personnel
• Respond to Fire Rescue as required
• Perform Basic-EMT duties as necessary
• Operate two-way radios and communicate effectively
• Conduct roving foot patrols for 8-12 hours per shift

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must currently possess and be able to maintain all requirements of a certified Emergency Medical Technician in the State and County of employment
• Must possess a current and valid driver’s license in the State of employment with no driving restrictions
• Must be able to meet and maintain all state-required training or other qualifications for licensing

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

• Must possess one or more of the following:
  • Meaningful and verifiable work history in any field
  • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience
  • Associate's degree or higher in any discipline
  • Service in the active duty military, military reserves or National Guard
  • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets

• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Active listening skills
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
• Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
• Attention to detail

Other

• Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
• Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
• Must demonstrate ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity:  Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Standing, walking, and sitting; minimal stooping and kneeling, maneuvering up to 50 pounds
