Role Responsibility:

This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

We have an opportunity for a Cleaning Supervisor to join our team as part of our contract with the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, based at Woodlands Hospital, Ipswich, IP4 5PD.

This is a Full Time role where you will be working 35 hours per week, covering various shifts on a 2 week rota.


Week 1:
Monday 10.30 - 18.00, Tuesday 7.30 - 15.00, Wednesday 10.30 - 18.00, Thursday 7.30 - 15.00, Friday D/O, Saturday 7.30 - 15.00 and Sunday 10.30 - 18.00

Week 2:
Monday 10.30 - 18.00, Tuesday 7.30 - 15.00, Wednesday 10.30 - 18.00, Thursday 7.30 - 15.00, Friday DO, Saturday DO and Sunday DO

The rate of pay is £10.79 per hour.


As the Cleaning Supervisor, you will be responsible for the planning, supervision and control of the day-to-day Housekeeping and Healthcare Cleaning Services.

You will ensure that service delivery meets with the required service standards within the Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment in line with current legislation, G4S and Trust policies and procedures.
  • Engage all staff in awareness of and adherence to maintenance of a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and control costs associated with the department’s service provision in line with management instruction.
  • Ensure correct resource levels are maintained to meet service provision.
  • Ensure that all communications from the Trust, Client Teams, and the Company are cascaded as appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships and develop effective communication with the Trust Client(s), and other NHS customers to support building and maintaining excellent relationships.
  • Ensure the quality and performance of the service provided by the department is monitored and reported as required.
  • Ensure staff are supervised in accordance with the relevant G4S or Trust policy in relation to training, absence management, disciplinary and grievance.
  • Support service change, delivery of results and service excellence.
  • Be an active member of the management team and participate in the continuous development/improvement of the overall service provision.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria

To be successful for this role, you should have Supervisory experience and be able to demonstrate a track record in Soft Service Operations.

You should also:

  • Hold a high degree of initiative and creativity.
  • Have an eye for detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Have experience interfacing at all levels throughout an organisation, gaining and maintaining credibility with all people.
  • Have outstanding Communication Skills.
